Right folks, as many suggestions as possible...

We don't know whether little un is a b or a g yet - chose to have a xmas surprise. Girls name is all agreed on but boys proving more tricky.

I love Noah Joshua but DH is having none of it. Trouble is, we've nothing else we both like either. The closest we've got is either Declan or Xander.

I'd prefer not to have something really trad ie, not Harry, Henry, Paul, Daniel etc. don't get me wrong it's not that I dislike them - I just ave it in my head I want something slightly different (but not cruel)!

Please help.

Oh I really love Declan, please have that.

Don't like Xander at all, is it diminutive of Alexander?

I know a little boy called Ptolemy, It gets shortened to Tolly which sounds sweet.

Xander is DH suggestion, kind of figured since he contributed sperm to our baby, I shoud at least give him a look in ;-)

I really like Declan, any suggestions for a middle name to go with. 3 syllable surname starting with J if that makes ANY difference.

We've opted against picking from either side of family as this is our little IVF miracle so there's no guarantee of a sibling to balance out a family name from the other side next time if that makes any sense.

I love both Xander and Declan, they were both on my list but DH shot them down in flames! They are lovely names though but not keen to use names i have to convince DH to like :(

I am having a really hard time finding a name, so will be watching this thread

Declan Rory J..
Declan Finbar J...

Would keep the Celtic theme going. What is your IVF Consultant called? That might give a nice link to use as a middle name.

Dexter? - A cross between Declan and Xander?

I love Declan though, a family members name! I don't think you want his MN though, which is Zygmunt Hmm.

Love Xander too - that is firmly on my list and being shot at thanks DP!

What about Xavier?

What about Saul?

It's a bible name but seems more classic than Noah, and far less popular than Joshua. You obviously like bible names?

Not crazy about Xander. It's a bit pretensh with the x,

Declan is ok but Diarmuid is a bit racier! ha ha.

Diarmuid is one of the legend names and it hasnt caught on to the same extent as Oisín, Finn/Fionn, Conor. Not sure why. Maybe Mathanxiety can explain. She knows everything.
