Love love love Jasper and I think James flows nicely with it if you promise not to call him JJ which is AWFUL!

I love it, i heard it the other day and i thought if i ever have a boy it may well be a Jasper!

And Jasper James is lovely.

Fear not AreYouAbleMabel...there won't be a JJ in sight!

Really love the name but don't know if I'll be brave enough to use it Confused

Why it's not odd, just not common.

Be brave!

Prefer Jasper George.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/11/2012 19:35

Don't like alliterative names at all, sorry. James is nice though.

KatyAnn28 · 15/11/2012 19:36

I know it's not odd and I have always loved it! The only thing that's stopping me is the fact that there aren't any obvious nns (except Jay or Jaz which I'm not a fan of) which means there would be nowhere for him to hide if he didn't like it...and it is a bit of a marmite name!

not too keen on jasper, quite a harsh name, prefer george jasper

Geranium3 - George was always going to be my baby boy name ever since I was little, but my sister has since called her daughter Georgie...grrr!

DH loves Felix. I wasn't sure but it's growing on me...

Also like Elliot and Rupert (in fact LOVE Rupert but I think I would be a bad mummy if we chose that one Sad)

Geranium3...she knew it was my favourite but her response was...give birth before me and you can have it (she was 6 months pregnant at the time!)

I've made her out to be a bitch but she isn't really, and little Georgie really suits her name Grin

I think Rupert is nicer than Jasper. Jasper James or Jasper George are too 'j' sounding for me.

Rupert James sounds lovely imo.

I knew a Jasper at school, he got teased a lot for being a wasp!

(but I haven't heard anyone call a wasp a jasper for ages, so perhaps it won't happen to your DS)

Strangely, I love the name George for a girl (think Famous Five) but really don't like it for a boy (Boy George?).

Love James though :)

if you think rupert is a little too much, how about
hugo
or ralph
sadly no more dc for me but if i had a ds iwould call him raphael, love it!
KatyAnn,if you are having a winter/christmas baby, how about Gabriel?
You sound a lovely mummy even if you had a ds called rupert!!!

I love Jasper. Also Kasper. I would use either of these were it not for it being unworkable with my surname.

Awww thanks Geranium3, that made my day!

We're actually not pregnant yet, have my appointment to have the Implanon removed on Monday though so hopefully won't be long! Have wanted this for so so long...hope it doesn't take us long.

I'm already obsessed with names and am going to be insufferable nearer to the time...poor DH!

good luck!
have you any ideas for girl's names?

Report
KatyAnn28 · 15/11/2012 20:59

Nope...I trawled through the top 300 girl's names the other day and didn't love any of them. Whoops!

We'd want a classic but not too 'old lady' name... but think it's going to take a while to find the right balance between the two!

How on earth do you choose? Confused

I love Jasper! I know a Jasper, he gets Jay very occassionally, but most people have always just called him Jasper or a nickname that is not based at all on his name.

I think Jasper James works well actually, although normally I wouldn't like names with the same letters, but this sounds nice.
