We've got an AVENT 510 baby monitor which was worked fine for 11 months. We moved house two months ago into a three level house so absolutely rely on it as we can't hear DD upstairs. We were a little desperate when we moved as this isn't the ideal layout.

For the last week the monitor has been beeping in the night (2am, 3am, 6.30am) and waking me up. One night it switched itself off and DD had been crying when I woke up. I'm absolutely shattered and can't take this much longer as DH is away and I'm on my own. I can't believe I have a baby that sleeps through but the stupid gadget is just ruining my sleep! I took it back yesterday and they changed the parent and baby units but not the power cords. It's always plugged in at night.

Has anyone every had a similar problem? I'm on the verge of buying a new one but we live in NZ and they are really expensive here.

We have a BT one, but the beep is a warning of something, isn't it? Was going to suggest high temp in the room (ours beeps when temp goes over 23) but I see you're in NZ so that's probably not the problem! Too low?

Ours also beeps when the battery is running down, which it can do even sitting on the charger, sometimes it is on the charger but not charging IYKWIM and needs a wiggle to get connected properly.
Also worth replacing the batteries in the parent unit, ours stopped charging properly after ~18months.

The bleep seems to be an indication that the link has broken. I took it back and changed it but it's still happening. Suspect something is interfering with it but we haven't gotten anything new so it must be something one of our neighbours has. Funny that it has just started happening though. I'm wondering about going round and asking them.
