Bt or angelcare?

I'm expecting DS1 in December and we thought we'd decided on the BT 250 monitor but having had another look this morning I'm having second thoughts. Now am stuck between that, the BT digital and the angelcare with sensor pad. What does anyone think? Thanks

I have the Angelcare with sensor-pad, and have had no problems at all with it. I found it very reassuring to have the pad there - stops the overly neurotic 'oh my god are they breathing' checks!

I have the BT pacifier which has light shows, music, night light etc. would def recommend BT as the sound is really good, no interference etc but I don't really use the light show or night light so ye lower range model would be fine for me.

I love my angel care. I also have a basic old BT which I swap back to when they can roll over and the alarm gets activated. I found the sound was clearer on the BT, but loved the reassurance of the sensor pad. Obviously you still check on the little one. It is not a substitute for good parenting.

thanks :) obviously will still be checking in regularly (hence don't see the point in video monitors etc) but good to know that the sensor mat works well

Just remember to turn it off before you pick little one up. It gives you just enough time to go downstairs or get the nappy off or start feeding before the alarm is activated, and it will scare the crap out of you and everyone else. It did alarm once when DD was in it asleep, and when I picked her up she took a huge intake of breath, so I do wonder if it saved her life. Thankfully I will never know. It was odd though, as I had woken up and gone to check on her anyway, and it alarmed just as I was going into her room.

I wish I had a video monitor for my 6yo though.

haha, yes i think video monitors for older kids would be wonderful! thanks for the advice, definitly a good tip!

I've had a Tomy Digital Plus since DS was born, it's been perfect (sound quality excellent). I definitely would have been more neurotic about everything having a video and pad. But I guess that's personal preference. After about 12 months we also picked up a video monitor (Summer Infant) as we wanted to put DS down awake and keep an eye on him. Glad we have both now as the sound is not as good on the video monitor (bit hissy), but also glad we only had audio to begin with.

I have angel care sensor pad and also a video monitor. Love love love the video monitor I think it was my best baby buy for peace of mind being able to see him and know he's not under the blanket or anything.

had fancy video one first time round, wireless kept interfearing with picture, drove us mad.

got bt one now, much much better, no regrets

We have the Angelcare and I am sure it has meant we have slept better, as we were able to stop the constant checking that we did when ds was in his Moses basket without the monitor.

The only issues are now ds is rolling a couple of times he has set the monitor off by rolling to the bottom of his cotbed, and a few times I have forgotten to turn it off when picking him up and set it off that way. Reassuring to know it works though :)

Agghhh, had settled on the Angelcare,but just seen the tommee tipee with sensor pad. Anyone had any experience with this one?
