Battery operated baby monitor needed for camper!

Can anyone recommend a basic, no frills baby monitor that we can use in our camper van? A night light one would be a bonus but not necessary. Other than that just cheap and both units able to run on batteries. We would like to be able to shut the door up once he is asleep and then treat ourselves to a glass of wine and a campfire! My little boy is a tinker and could possibly get up to all kinds of mischief if he wakes up without our knowing. Although only planning to sit outside the van I'm thinking that possible noise from neighbours, the sea, conversation etc would mean we couldn't hear him and the tinted windows mean we couldn't watch him through them... And if we leave the door open no chance of him staying asleep and us getting any peace and quiet!

Sadly, can't help with monitors as I have just asked exactly the same question in the Camping section. I have just killed the parent unit of our BT 150 monitor which had the option to run both units on batteries. The new version the BT 250 doesn't seem to and neither do a number of the other monitors I have been looking at. But you only seem to be able to find out from the reviews - the technical details online don't seem to make this clear in many cases.

So I am also hoping someone will come along to one of the threads with details of a monitor which does have this facility.

By the way, ALoadofCobblers, in Camping, two people suggested you can get phone apps which act as baby monitors, at least on both iphone and android. This might solve your problem (we have Windows phones so I don't know if this is an option for us yet)?
