Baby monitors? HELP!!!

Can anyone suggest a baby monitor, thats reliable and affordable? Been looking at BT 150's (cheaper on amazon) but they have mixed reviews so not too sure just yet. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated :)

depends on what you mean by affordable. I cannot fault our Motorola MPB30. It's a video monitor, but was only £20 more than the audio only version we considered. Have seen it for £70 if you shop around.

Well about £50 would be my limit. I know it may not be very optimistic getting a really good one for that but i'd like to try!!

We had a Tomy Walkabout, which was good. Can't see the one we had but looks like this is the newer version (Tomi Digital Plus TD350 - link) Alot cheaper than we paid too!!

We were always happy with ours.

We have Angelcare (with sensor pad). It's brilliant. Can't recommend it highly enough. Costs about £80 but it's been worth the money.

I've just bought a BT250. We already have a BT150 and couldn't fault it, so when we needed a second monitor I went for the newer model.

There are lots of 'new' ones on eBay for £45 ish. They tend to be shop/catalogue returns. I've never had a problem with this and the monitor I got from seller bt_outlet is great

Can I add an additional question here? We just bought the Angelcare Sound and Movement monitor but when we tested it we discovered that it's not possible to turn off the alarm that sounds on the nursery unit when no movement is detected. To me, it doesn't seem practical that the alarm should sound on the nursery unit as well as the parent unit, given that the odd false alarm is fairly likely and the alarm is definitely enough to waken a sleeping baby, but I've seen such good reviews of the product, I'm wondering if anyone who uses the monitor already could maybe give me their opinion on that aspect of the product?

I am one of those people who researches the heck out of everything before purchasing, however I blew it on the baby monitor, because we had to suffer through two crappy ones to finally find motorola baby monitor! This is the best baby monitor out there in terms of quality, features, and range.

Hello guys, what baby monitor would be good for a 2 story house? I?m about to have my first baby and I want to get a baby monitor. Does anyone have any idea? Should I go for digital or is there really no need of baby monitor. Please give me your best recommendation.

We had a similar model to this (click here) and never had any probems with it. Always worked well.

Looks a bit differant to the one we had though.

We bought the Tomee Tipee sensor pad monitor and it works well enough in a two storey house and into the garden. There's a blue light that flickers when there's sound and a green one for motion (ie breathing) so just glancing at the parent unit from across the room I can see exactly what's going on. Works well for barbies in the garden!
