Sorry - rl intervened for a while there ...
thanks - it's great to come back to so many suggestions
I'm quite new to eBay and Notonthehighstreet but I'm going to have fun looking through all the different categories of box and container - thanks Popsmum
DizzyD - that suitcase is perfect in terms of price/size/presentation but I'm worried it might be a bit too "young" for my neighbour's child. I might get get it for my dd though!! thanks
NorksDrift (love the nickname btw) and Ingles - loads of ideas on that website - thanks - I love sewing so it's a good one to list on my favourites. Will try and find out about delivery
That's a very stylish idea Perpetua - thanks again - will investigate - Next have an EU site as well so could be fairly hassle free solution in terms of postage
Will have to make a decision pretty sharpish now - but loads now to choose from - so thanks again - much appreciated
Look at
www.next.co.uk; go to page 7 of bathroom storage. Cute glass jars with metal lids, about £7 - £10 depending on which size you get.
I've got them filled with shells in my bathroom, and they came through the post. You'd just have to fill them with the stuff and use the same packaging to post.
(Sorry can't do direct links on my itouch).
or
this?I can't see whether they deliver to the EU though.
How about something like
this
no probs, have you looked on ebay? loads on UK one...
er, that strike out worked well ...!
Thank you pop mum
I think there is a Muji over here .. will investigate ... those look good but I think I prefer something a bit more on the shabby chic side
Sorry, do appreciate all suggestions, am being a pain in the --a**se-- very choosy
how about funky clear from muji
here = i saw the kath kidson ones this weekend and they are lovely, very twee
Thanks Jackie. Tis perfect but, as you say, delivery a problem.
mmm that's lovely, thanks, OurLady of P
tis a bit pricey though at £28 as have already spent a bit on contents ... you know how a few buttons here and a couple of metres of ribbon there add up ... ?!
might go for the button box though ...
Hadn't thought of glass either, thanks. It would show off the bits and pieces very well but perhaps a bit fragile in this instance (posting involved)
Any other ideas pls? Could be tin or even plastic as long as not too utilitarian ...
John Lewis? But they don't deliver outside the UK.
Have a look at
www.cathkidston.co.uk. There's a mini 'strawberry' sewing basket in the homewares section, as well as a few sewing kits and tins.
Or, if it's just to contain buttons, you could get a nice glass storage jar so she could show them off.
Any ideas anyone please?
I don't want anything too huge, and it must be deliverable to EU within a fortnight ...
It's a small leaving present for a neighbour's daughter - I have antique buttons and bits and bobs to put inside it - I just can't find the right container
A lovely cardboard box would do ...
