*****tumbleweed**** helLO HELLO

thrifty finds
hello

i'm having a giveaway on my blog for my hundredth post - if anyone wants to enter
click here and go leave me a comment

my blogging all started because of mumsnet arts and crafts board and i've met some really lovely people here - mwah x

wow that's a bit blatant isn't it! No attempt to make it even the slightest bit different. Are you going to contact her?
wierded out as somone on flickr has copied my card art.. its wierd.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/hockamama/ has filched by her own discription my Owl card and russian doll card.. and i page two Vv pointed out a tree embroidery very similar to my poison apple tree... feels so wierd I'm not even that good or well know to be copied... and to be copied exactly soo odd and stalkerish
my
owl that was copied..
Meridian Ariel search scroll down and you will see two cards that are not mine.
Thanks for kind words. x
update : my silver art clay did arrive & I have been playing! Still a bit scary as you get so little for you money - its precious stuff! Will get back into blogging soon - I may start with a new blog as my old one is sadly neglected!

{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Dingle - MIL loved the card & so did others that saw it

Not been about much as its been a bit traumatic recently - my dad died suddenly so its not been much fun. I'm Ok though.
My silver art clay pressie to myself after finishing my year long course might be a duffer as nothing has arrived & someone else hasn't got the stuff she bought off the same seller either (not off MN I must add)
err try again!
easter
happy easter crafters! have blogged [[http://maximumrabbitdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/04/happy-easter.html easter]
Glad it arrived safely Whizzz!

I have emailed you, need your addy, do you think I can find it!!

hey crafters there is now a classified section on crafter...oo forum
here
I shall have to investigate to see what all the fuss is about ...

tilly, we're all hiding out on twitter these days!
Hello, I am a bad, bad girl as I haven't been on Mumsnet A&C for ages. I've had a few problems finding any motivation lately to make anything but I think I am on the road to recovery now.
Time always seems to be short (we've got a new dog so he has been taking up lots of my time recently, love him), and I haven't wanted to set foot inside my workroom as I felt an imposter ...
Anyhow, I've been making again recently and currently have a pile of WIP's on the go.
This is what
I have been up to on my blogI am going to sit for half an hour tomorrow and catch up on everyone's blogs

whizzz, i'm sure she posted on crafteroo today
just blogged about my latest craft swap
here is what i sent previous post is about what i received

Has anyone 'seen' Dingle about recently?
Should only be a couple more days VV - fingers crossed
how can you resist? i'd love to go on a course to learn about that but worry that i'd waste it - everytime i've tried fimo i've drawn a blank!
I've bought some Silver Art Clay + bits & bobs of tools from someone who is selling up. Have been wanting to give this a go for ages.
(Clay like material that you can roll, shape, fire on a gas hob & it ends up 99% pure silver!)
This is my treat to me for almost finishing my dyslexia course! I'm not allowed to play with it until all is submitted & passed!
i have blogged mother's day card
here
yeah i've entered dizzy!
100th Blog Post Giveaway
here
new blog post!
color swap here
oh i forgot to tell you
buckle porn here enjoy!
guess what?
more felt/button brooches!
here
Hi all - just making this one of the 'threads I'm on'. I have done loads of blogging lately, but am not posting a link because I am much more wary nowadays. Most of you have it anyway

Vv- love the owl brooches.. cant wait to see what you turn to next in your felt odessey.. quail? bunnies? cute little octopi?

i blogged more owl brooches
here
whizzz- OMG that made me laugh... and especially as the add for smilyl emoticons shouted "Oh Mi God" too..

I've blogged some leaves I made and how my brain works.. or rather dosent..
here have loads to do this week but not got anything done so far!
just made a new brooch - using one of incywincy's buttons
on flickr
LOL lots! it is a very small and stumpy one!
Took me several goes to photo as I was laughing so much
link{http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/17312577\Willy}
OMG I have crocheted a small penis

Evan more LOL. I've discovered what I was doing wrong & have now increased - trouble is, I appear to be making a pale blue willy warmer

I'd post a pic but I can't hold the camera steady for laughing
LOL at my attempts at crochet

I found a video tut of a arigumi-watsit that looked really easy to follow - so off I went. The video ended up with a small circular 'mat' of crochet. I've ended up with a rather nice thumb warmer - it fits perfectly!!

I'm quite pleased with it as it does look quite neat but it wasn't what I was expecting to get!
I guess I haven't quite got the hang of increasing stitches!
Oooh...it's all shiny and bright over here!
Hi TTT.
Tags - try easy2name.com for custom labels. I'm sure there used to be a discount code for mn members? but can't find it now : /
i have blogged about what i sent to my partner in the owl swap oranised by Meridian
here
Thank you Whizzz!

Dingle - could you make me another of your lovely cards please for MIL who will be 80, if you have time (not needed till April)

dingle- I do a bit of papercraft.. I'm jsut kinda crap at it.. I just like vintage paper

.. I should be on here right now but DH and DS have gone out on a hunt to buy a new bin so I'm messing about trying to do some writing.. its not going well .. perhaps I'll craft instead..
and I can't get the hang of how things are on here any more.. everything is not where its supposed to be.. argh
I feel a bit lost on there too Whizzz, there doesn't seem to be many paper crafters on there and it is a bit lonely!

Hi TTT, sorry, I never said hello earlier!

Wow - lots of messages! I thought it was quite quiet in here. Thanks for the advice about the tags, I will have a look.
Will have to join you on crafteroo - it's so big though!

Very nice, can you tell I'm into accessorising in a big way lately. Thank you, it's really gorgeous.
Thank you Whizzz, sorry haven't been about a whole lot this week

.
You've emailed me a pic have you, that was quick, off to check my emails (and thank you, I really appreciate it)
Oh & Ranting - have made your necklace & mailed you a pic

Hope you like it
I'm still here trying to get used to the new layout...not on here as much as I used to though. There is so much going on on Craferoo I get lost in it all
Hi there, long time no chat!

MN crafters have all done a runner! LOL. I am trying to join you over on Crafteroo...but there isn't much activity on the papercrafting front!
I have been busy playing with my new pens! LOL...I was even asked to colour in the new download collection..thud...panic....but had lots of fun doing it!

ttt - i've used a company called jj cash for labels a few times in the past, their prices have gone up though since then. google 'woven name tapes' and you should get some uk based companies come up.
ranting- thank you! its one of my favourite bracelets..
I still don't like this new version of mumsnet.. i just can't get the hang of it...
TTT- hello and welcoem to the chat thread.. on occasion it does still get busyish on here.. most of us are on crafteroo ... lovely blog and crafts.. I don't know about labels.. but I can have a look around.. I may have seen somone mention a good place for them not too long ago..
blogged a little
pincushion I made the other day...
Thanks! I've had a really fun night, made a felted bag from a scarf and an old necklace, and cut out lots of patchwork squares to make a tote bag. I'm really enjoying reading crafty blogs as well, although that can be more addictive than MN!
hi TTT - welcome to chat!
Hi, can I join you all? I am mainly a knitter, but also do crochet, sewing, patchwork, embroidery and quilting. I'd love to try beading, felting and rugmaking as well - I'm a bit addicted to making things!

I have a blog
here and am starting to make things to sell on Folksy.
Does anyone know where I could get little tags made up to sew inside the things I make? I'm looking for something similar to a name tape, but with a bit more style lol!
Still haven't got used to this

Ranting - have ordered your beads

thanks Ranting - i do love making my packaging!
Look forward to seeing your finished knitwear with button on!
Meri that bracelet is gorgeous.
VV, the postie brought me a package today

. Thank you, they're beautiful, my only complaint is they're so beautifully presented it's going to hurt when I remove the button I've picked

.
Dd has her beady eye on the black art deco style one, she is most taken with that, she's not getting it!!
Whizzz, if you get an email from a strange woman, it's me!! Just so you know.
looks I did make something and Alys helped me model!
Ihave actually got some crafting done... made two pendants and a bracelet.. nothing fancy just playing about with black and red again (thats all I have left at the moment bead wise) will blog pics later when I have taken some.
now I just need to sew something and I will have done my to do list for today.. save cleaning house and making tea..
i've got used to it now but lost all my "watching threads" i'll never find them again now

having a tiny little sale on folksy!
little red cardglass buttonsand more!!!
What a gimpy layout ... I can't find anything ! Why have MN changed it ?
It's put me off using MN, don't know about everyone else ?
ranting- I'm a lefty and learned (taught myself) to knit right-ily ..

or something... though addmittedly I'm not the greatest of knitters... can only go down to the US embassy in G. Square.
I have a big to do list today but its cold and I really don't want to do it!
Meri, I only live about 40 miles from Peterborough passport office, if that's any help.
Am not sure about this layout, have to say.
VV, have emailed and paid you..(Ta).
Finger knitting, have always wanted to try and teach dd that, I have however taught her how to knit, despite her being a leftie and me a rightie. Feel quite chuffed about that.
this is what I'm trying to sort out if anyone is curious.
dont like the new layout.. its too wierd and I just don't like it.. <grump>
whizzz- not sure about the finger knitting thing.. I think I would probably end up in a horrible tangle.. but the scarf looks lovely.. sorry not replied for ages..
Vv- love your brooches!
I should be doing something useful now instead of ignoring DS while he watches sonic but I'm tired and grumpy....
it is a bit "zingy" nice and fresh though
The new layout hurts my eyes
ranting - i've emailed you about the buttons!
OMG - I've discovered Finger Knitting! Such fun - look I made a scarf in less than an hour
hereFab tutorial on Folksy if anyone else wants a go - it's such fun!
vv-- oh good I'm glad it got to you safe and sound.. I hope you still like it.. looking forward to your e-mail.. all I seem to get in my inbox is junk mail this week..
have just blogged the display I did for the
studio I have a big to do list for the next couple of days.. a new home card to make for a friend who moved, and something to go along with it.. er probably another warm bag as I like making them so much. and really need to update my etsy shop.. but really really not motivated for that at the moment.
VV, I may have to buy some russian dolls off you at some point.
Have left you a comment whizzz.
Rather embarassingly....I have blogged my feeble efforts of late!
here but don't laugh
meri - thanks soooo much for my lovely parcel it smells gorgeous! i'll email you later off to kiddie party now - eeekk!
oohhh i do have this set not sure how old these ladies are
folksy girls
yep - i sell them - not sure if i have any listed right now? i need to get some photo's sorted - i sell the proper vintage ones mainly - the ones with USSR printed on them
like these
Did you say you actually sell russian dolls VV? Hmmmmmm
Yes, think they are partly inspired by clothkits, rather cute, they also had a feature on a woman who does printed russian doll panels, so of course, I have to buy them too.

aww cute bunnies - kinda clothkit like?
VV, thanks am about to reply to your email,
this is a babushka bunny, they did a feature on this seller in sew hip and dd was looking over my shoulder while I was reading it. Needless to say she was quite taken with it.
Got any pics of your russian doll makes VV. I love them too but, dd has become quite obsessed with them of late.
have just
blogged about last weekend and more brooches!
sorry I havne't been on this thread much.. its been a busy and not busy time.. which sounds rather lame.. but there you go.. I have
blogged a few bits here and there and will try to pop by here more often... though whenever I do it seems I'm just talking to myself.. which isn't alltogether that odd really..
<waves>
got your eMail ranting - just sorting you out some pretties!
i'm a russian doll addict myself {i sell them too!} you daughter is a girl of very good tastes! What are baboushka bunnies i've not bought sew hip ..... yet!
Well I'm pleased you're still here Dior. I did see all that Moldie stuff but must have missed some of it.
VV have emailed you.
I took delivery of a couple of Babushka bunnies today, dd saw them in Sewhip and fancies having a go, so I know what we'll be doing Saturday. She is currently going through a bit of phase with russian dolls, too, since seeing that mag.
Where's GM when you need her, she liked Russian dolls too, didn't she?
ok i've no idea what the "moldie" thing was?
I tend to stick to this thread and my childminding staffroom thread here on MN as i can't be bothered with the pointless bickering!
whizzz - i knew it was you! but it can get confusing - i do twitter, crafter...oo, facebook, and more!! i spend way too much time online

I'm still here.
Tsk 'not much of a conversationalist'

I missed the whole moldie thing, decided to stay away and obviously I was right to do so! (have just read about it on custardos blog). It explains a lot about why its so different here now
Ooooo and I want to do the Finger knitted scarf that I saw the tut for on Folksy - looks ace!
VV LOL at your button porn (it was me you added as a friend on FB by the way in case you dodn't realise) - MN, crafty forums & RL all seem to be crashing together - very confusing!!
I've seen some nice jewellery bits made form buttons - dare'nt even look into that at the mo. Got a Bead mage here - UNOPENED! What is the world coming to??! Might take a peek tonight though

Hadn't heard about Dior - I seem to lose track about whats going on here these days - missed the entire Moldie thing!
eh? i must of missed something here then?!
ranting no problemo

from what i can remember, it was all to do with the moldie thing getting in the papers. she was either quoted or misquoted, not exactly certain. anyway, as her chat name was mentioned in the article, she had concerns about people searching for it, and being recognized in real life, so had to ask for all her posts to be withdrawn

Eh? What's happened to Dior, is she alright?
ooooh, button porn, hubba hubba

hey, that dior isn't much of a conversationalist, every time she posts, she just says 'message withdrawn'

(poor d, i did read about why on another thread)
Is it wrong to love all of those?
Am going to have to get my backside ready for work now but I have your email addy from the last time I bought from you, so will email you tomorrow, if that's ok VV?
i'll have a look for you . . . .
take a look on this post
button porn there are some beauties on there - the last photo shows a lovely carved dark m-o-p button approx 1.5" or i have large again approx. 1.5" plainer m-o-p buttons four hole with a wide lip. HTH

Well the wool is like a bluey lilac but, I need something contrasting, I think rather than matching, size, ummm have to look at the pattern and get back to you on that. It says, I quote 'Buttons: one, large.
Thats not very helpful is it? What's the largest you've got in the MOP?

i'm sure i can find one!
what colour/size/material?
i've got some gorgeous carved large mother-of-pearl ones - super luxury!
Hello VV, how are you?
I need to talk to you too, I need a large button to put on my knitted cardi, got anything nice that will fit the bill?
hi Ranting

No probs - if you have an idea of the sort of thing you are after let me know - I'm sure I can fit you in

Yes, started it all last May - seems like forever!
Well maybe when you're not so busy, let me know and I'll put in my order (cheeky...me?

).
I remember when you started your course, am guessing it must be a while now.
That sounds interesting. I have a Folksy site which although I haven't updated for yonks - I still keep managing to sell bits & bobs (even though my photos are rubbish). Actually I need to update it & put a few more things on.
It's Art history Whizzz

, am really excited about it and got stuck into the prep weeks ago but can't access my study stuff on the web until tomorrow.
What level course are you doing Whizzz?
And is your Etsy site still going? I'm feeling the need for new necklaces if you and Dior are up for the challenge

Hi Ranting - what OU course are you doing?
My Dsylexia teaching course should be all done by Easter, so I'm counting the days!
No worries. If anyone drops out I can join in if it helps. But it really doesn't matter - I only really said yes because I thought it was a little swappy thing.

It's a shame, so many people seem to be having a tough time of things for one reason or another at the mo. Hope things pick up for everyone soon.
Hello all, glad to see LK that I wasn't the only one to feel a bit

about Tony Hart, I loved Take Hart as a child.
Been doing a bit of dressmaking but no time for blogging for ages, lot of upheaval at work, my job is being done away with, (they won't make me redundant though, apparently they have plans for me

). Which is a good thing, at least but now I have to sit tight and wait and see.
Have also started an OU course so that is going to take up LOTS of time.
So how is everybody?
whizzz-- I was wondering about that.. sorry thigns have been total pants around here lately... you could still do it as a challenge though.. maybe one of those scrabble tile pendants or something.. and I'm waiting to hear back from someone who hasn't emailed her partner yet so I may end up having to do two partners and I could slide one your way if you wanted too... sorry I missed out on you though... my head isn't on right lately..
Meri I think I missed your owl swap - didn't realise it was on your blog - thought it was just the 'other forum' thing - not an international one. Never mind my sewing is pants anyway - tee hee!
I don't post as much as I did - and I don't craft as much at the mo due to a course I'm doing (booo)
But I still check in from time to time

gg- as LK said.. becuase of all the trolling and unpleasantness everyone has been giving mn a wide berth...I still pop on every now and again and so do a few others and it may pick up again sometime.. anyone is welcome.... I have been busy on crafteroo.co.uk and generally busy and/or sad and depresive times.. so not really the life of the party me.. but I try..
gg - nothings kicked off here in a&c, but i think it's more down to all the other goings on mn in general, all the spate of trolling before christmas etc, those who used to post here a lot are giving mn a wide berth, or have jumped ship to crafteroo, which is a pure crafty forum. with me it's just a general cutting down on internet time altogether thing.
very sad today, tony hart has died

i used to love take hart as a child.
I love those felted brooches, have been meaning to get round to something like that for ages but am stuck finishing off stuff i started for xmas (very disorganised!) so i feel i need to get that finished 1st!
Why is it so quiet on here, has something major kicked off? It used to move so fast it was difficult keeping up with everyone

ooohh exciting! i await your eMail!
vintage- <lol> I'll try and e-mail you later after I have organized this owl swap... drawn partners and so on... and yes I have noticed your lovely felting brooches

ooohh really? what would you like?

been making lots of felt brooches lately - you may've noticed that LOL

vintage-- <lol> I'd be happy to do a swap with you for it.

Meri - i think the toadstool one wants to live with me - he he HE

I made a couple of lavender rice warmbags... one for a friend .. and the other erm well just because.. I don't know what I will do with it but I wanted to sit down and make something the other day..
blue one made for a friends birthday.
toadstool one my favorite, but it dosen't really have a home.. I jsut love the teeny scrap of toadstool fabric..
I've done absolutely f&&& all

In my
mind I've done loads and planned loads but in reality....?
<<slinks off>>
have blogged
here and posted a tutorial
here for a felt toadstool brooch.
i think i have a felt addiction.
bumpety bump
gigglinggoblin- hello... I will go have a nose round your blog then before I run the bath... its been a bad week so far and its only wed. your knitting is lovely.. I can't do a pattern to save my life.. honestly...
I have just blogged and
Owl Swap.. but thats about it... I have a little fabric bookmark tutorial to draw up... but have been slacking on the crafting front since christmas.
Hello, I used to chat on here and then went away cos I was sick of people being nasty but thought I might be safe in the crafty section. I love lurking and browsing your blogs so thought it was about time I posted something. Mine is
here if you are interested

love the Little red rice warmer and i would comment but i still can't get into my flickr account {sob}
I blogged though nothing terrible exciting as blogger wont let me upload photos.. so I uploadeda few of the christmas presents I made to my
flickr photostream I'll blog some more soon.. including my never fail brownie recipe .. a bookmart tutorial and erm some other stuff.. when I feel like blogging properly and not just being huddled by the fire.

bump

cool I'll do a write up for a swap in the new year.. I should be posting a blog or two now but I really cant be bothered to do much of anything at the moment.. DH is out on a wedding and DS is watching something annoying on playhouse disney before Ruby Gloom starts on POP... I heart Ruby Gloom... cartoon for the inner gothlet..
I'd be up for a swap too hopefully I can fit a bit of crafting in soon
Merry Christmas everyone. I'm looking forward to Hogmaney as we are having family over.
I got a Jelly Roll fabric pack and a quilt pattern book.
I'll be up for a swap. In fact I've just put an entry on my
blog thanking my swap partners from this year
Hope you all had a great xmas and a happy new year to you all.
Father christmas brought me a new janome sewing machine, hee hee.
i'd be up for a swap Meri

i need a new challenge.
I didn't get any crafty goodies for christmas except for some fabric from the crafter...oo secret santa swap... though I may treat myself to a few things in the new year.. christmas was good and my handmade creations went down well so I am very pleased at that... especially as I made my friend Frizbe some handmade sugar scrub and it worked out really nicely so I might make some more for myself soon!
would anyone but up for doing a little crafty swap in the new year? not sure about a theme or anything yet just mulling over a few ideas...
anyway hope everyone had a fab christmas!
Hope FC brought you all some lovely crafty goodies! I got some devine beads I had been drooling over for ages thanks to my lovely RL mates who understand my beady obsession!!

Hello all, is there a thread all about your blogs? I want to start reading some regularly as I really don't have a clue what blogs are about and how you start them , what you write about but everyone keeps saying that blogs are essential to promote your crafts?
oohh whatcha buy meri?
I'm exausted.. two batches of brownies and 48 cupcakes in 24 hours... baked not eaten mind you! and I havne't done alot of crafting except for some
scrap ornaments going to go to Lichfield Christmas Market on Sunday to visit IncyWincy and Ethel who have a stall... and if I jsut happen to go to the big bead shop on my wanders.. and the lovely Kizon jewellery shop... and must have coffee too"!

Hello you lot, I am back!!
Ohh Meri, you have a sewing machine!! You'll be hoarding fabric piles now, mark my words.
damn!!!
vintage-- there is only one flaw in your diabolical plan.. Gingermonkey knows where I live and might track me down and kill me!

aww bless
will you be turning into a fabric addict/hoarder now?
go visit gingermonkey and when she's busily distracted devouring the delish cake you would've obviously baked - shovel a shelf of gorgeous fabrics into your bag !!!
she'll never notice - he he he
your MIL sounds bloody lovely . . . .mine is a big ole bi#@h
vintage- MIL bought the mchine on thursday (shopping day) at john Lewis... then brought it over here yesterday afternoon, made the little rice bag just before tea... gave it to MIL to take with her to put on her cheek as she has a toothache and it helped.. she was quite impressed as she thought I was only making another little stuffed pillow/ornament like we did as a demonstration and DS helped, and nicked off with the little red pillow for his vampire to sleep on. bless
oooooohhh when d'ya get the sewing machine meri? will look at blog tomorrow i neeed tea! saw the make on flicker - cool

err i mean toasty!!!
listed a card on folksy here http://www.folksy.com/items/7313--heart-felt-greetings- and more russian dolls on etsy.

Hi Kiwi....I suppose about 25-30 miles(ish)
Haven't been to Canterbury for yonks!
yoohoo Dingle... how far are you from
Canterbury ??
Oh, VV- I love that little cabinet-how did you resist it for so long!

I am in chaos here trying to sort out my craft room. Desperate for some orgaNISATION (opps) and storage ideas now.
My craft room progress story!!
time for a service for the lappy i guess Meri?
my computer has gone kaput... I'm on DH's at the moment.. so don't tell... so i don't know when I will be online again... I have so much i planned to get done today and now its not going to happen as everything is on my laptop and its all gone to s
*. it crashes when you try to log on and restarts then shuts down again.. I'm quite upset about it...
I'm going to go for a walk into town before I start painting doors.. am in a foul mood now ...

Just back from Disney ...
What's all the hoo ha about on MN? Has there been some nastiness ? What threads, any links ?
Blimey, some people can be orrible. I got attacked once on a thread after making the most innocent observation, there seems to be a couple of resident 'orribles' on here that pop up to attack on various posts every now and again.
Hope all is OK with everyone on here. I don't get the laptop til the evenings as dh needs it for work, Grrrrrrrrr ...
So, my visits are a tad random at the mo until his new one arrives

I have stayed away from MN for awhile due to all the madness.. but have been on
crafteroo alot...
I got some paitning doen today.. only one finished and blogged so far though.. its
hereright best go tidy up before I collect DS from his after school french club.
Hi - Im lurking again too! I spend most of my online time on ravelry now. I mainly knit but Im going to spinning classes too, and i have a wheel.
I heard rumours of the nastiness on MN, and have almost been stung since coming back - there seems to be a tendency to short fuses - or maybe thats just me - on certain threads?
Anyway, glad to see all is calm here!
I will try to catch up with some blogs to see what you have all been up to.
hello everyone

haven't been around here for a while, tho' have been blogging a bit and doing a few bits and pieces
hope all are well
I missed all the MN meltdown - was it fun?
off to check blogs - apologies for being so random in my commenting of late, life in the real dimension seems to have taken over somewhat !
I haven't been on here for ages....busy at home with fighting the school/LEA again and some Design Team and .....shhhh....magazine work...has been keeping me busy too.
I have been trying to
blog nearly every day, mostly crafting, sometimes just waffle though. I have just recieved a few new stamps in the post today so I hope to play this afternoon!
love your story Meri

and i think your MIL is right!
{a MIL being right? is that a first?!}

thanks you!
and no MIL dosent have sewing machine but she thigns I should get a small one from John Lewis.
not a crafty thing really but I have been working on writing a story to my poison apple tree painting/embroidery.. if you want to have a read at part I its
here
lovely new stuff meridian!
vintage, those fabric buttons are very tempting.
great re the commission(sp) whizzz
fabby bracelets dior.
I sooo need to get my crafting butt in gear, anyone got any spare hours? LOL

Well Dior I would love to bead all the time but alas my course work gets in the way at the mo. There's just too much to do & too many dealines to hit.
Now that I've sneaked a few beads out though, I might just manage a few more bits & bobs

Message withdrawn
Way Hay ! I'm beading

. A MNetter (don't know her MN name) has asked me to make 3 lariats!! I feel so rusty - however have made 2 but now have course work to catch up with so number 3 will have to be later in the week.
To get me back in the mood too, I've bought some lovely 'sweetie' beads which I hope to make a bracelet or two with when time permits.
meri - has the MIL got a sewing machine?

Message withdrawn
vintage.. I don't have a sewing machine so I think thee is no way I would be able to get anything even remotely straight.. I just thought it was a cute little idea...I have some nifty teal wool from Paris to knit into a scarf.. or one of those ones that jsut goes round your neck.. which I can't think what to call it for the life of me.
oh and I have blogged only a few bits thats have been floating around on flickr for a while.
here
nice scarf Meri - you gonna have a go?
did you get Miaou's email? think it's a virus - she said stay away till she's fixed it.
goodluck with the daily blogging - i'm struggling with a post a week at the mo

saw
this on etsy and thought it would be a fab project for quilty/fabric o' philes.. I thought it was cute anyway.. brill as a kids scarf idea...
cant get in to the Miaou forum.. and my laptop is a bit poorly too.. I joined the NabloPoMo thing so have commited myself to a blog post every day eekkk...
here are the first two anyway hope everyone is well.. and crafting.. I have loads to do this week.. I may pop back in a bit to give you a list.. when I have done the hoovering and the laundry!

new blog post
here
don't be shy please leave me a comment!
been hiding in the swap threads and haven't seen all the nastiness.
where's Miaou's place?
I am trying to get some Christmas bits done still!!
I have placed an
ad for Stampin' Up! if anyone's interested.
anyone making a Christmas cake this year? I'm umming and ahhing about soaking fruit...
I'm still here although still no time for crafting at the mo.
There does seem to be a lot of vile and personal attacking going on on MN in general at the mo, which is a terrible shame. It's a lot more friendlier 'elsewhere' (& am spending a lot of time messing on Facebook these days too

)
i don't visit the other craft forum anymore. one thing that always bugged me about it was (well, apart from the obvious!), their 'reputation' system, you know when people have a rep score, it was like you were being marked on every post, and yet some (not all) who had a high score, spouted nowt but rubbish, was more like a popularity contest imo
it's a blardy shame about mn going nasty - i normally check this thread once a day{or two}
but it seems we've all fragmented with some off to ravelry and crafter...oo and even "The other craft forum"{shivers at the memories}
i for one spend far too much time moochin' about in cyberspace when i should be crafting or looking after ds {bad mammy}. . . . . .
oh and i miss icod

love the new name

tilly, i think everyone has flown the nest unfortunately, after all the recent mn meltdown, it's just not the same here anymore. some can be found at ravelry, or the new craft forum, crafteroo, or miaou's place.
ha i meant bumPing

Everyone must be very, very busy. Got my family with me at the mo and hubby is stealing the laptop for work !
Hope everyone is doing fine ?

How you all doing? No time to blog, although I am still crafting (making squares for a blanket at the moment). Went to Ally Pally last weekend, was great.

Hi everyone, not been around much, had quite a few ups and downs recently...mum had to have another operation, school seem to be pulling more and more support away from DD again...it's never ending.
We were away in Devon last week and I am back and raring to go...fighting hat in one hand and crafting hat in the other.
I have had a card printed in Craft Stamper this month came home to some news about another Design Team yesterday.
You can see some pics and details on
blog if you are interested.
sorry I haven't been around on here much lately.. its such a madhouse here.. I miss this thread.. I havne't been making an awful lot of crafty thigns but I have made a
little owl that i'm quite proud of..
hi you lot, i have completely forgotten about the knitting & stitching show at ally pally this weekend, i should really be there today, but have no energy to get myself on the train, plus if i was going to go, i should be nearly in london by now!, ho hum!, have seen a few copies of sew hip floating around in blogland, mine not arrived yet though <sulk emoticon>
I'm good thanks

Dior, thank you, it's gorgeous (and so is the card), am really pleased with it.
Hello ladies.
Dior thank you, am waiting by the post box as we speak

and there is something else I'm coveting on your folksy but, I am paying for a new bath and tiles for the bathroom at the moment, so am limiting the amount I spend on moi. I am so bored with looking at baths, it's mind numbing, I just want a bath I can lie in (our current one has a straight down back and is hideous).
GW, nice to see you again, no wonder you've been busy, you're about to published!! Congratulations!!

hello Greebo

i have blogged again
devon sunshine
*Hiya everybody!*
Part 6? Part 6? Have I really been away that long?

I've just been catching up on some of the blogs & there's lots of beautiful stuff. I got totally taken over by the Pratchgan but now that it's over (it still hasn't quite sunk in that I got to meet the man himself!) I have time to do other bits & pieces again too.
I'm still doing lots of swapping on ravelry (surprise surprise) & have been having fun dyeing & spinning my own wool on the wheel I bought a few months ago - I still haven't blogged her but she's so pretty that I'm gonna have to soon.
Some new-ish stuff on
the blog - the wool roving was dyed using KoolAid & after seeing what it does to wool I have
no intention of ever drinking it! I've spun some of it up so I'll be blogging that soon.
Main news is that I'm almost published - I have 3 fingerless glove patterns in a book due out on October 1st called
Off The Cuff & am so excited

I have been coveting that for a while, I was hoping no one would snaffle it before payday!! It will look gorgeous with my (soon to be) dress, thank you Dior.

hi TIllyboo - i'm not really really busy - just moochin' about elsewhere

Hello everyone ! Blimey this thread has dropped down the list a bit. Everyone must be very, very busy,
I've blogged a new mini art quilt today and off to have a nosey at what everyone has been up to

ranting- thank you! house is getting there.. vaguely... its a bit like "The Money Pit" every job leads to about 5 more jobs and we are stressed and arguing about things but doing ok.. wish I had mroe time to craft at the moment.. it might make me feel better.
Have emailed and paypalled you, Meri. Love the keyring too, thanks.
Just got it, thank you, it's wonderful, am about to sort out the payment, right now. How are you? All settled in now?
ranting- I have emailed you.. but just incase it hasn't got to you I posted the "Button Thief" little embroidery kit to you yesterday so hopefully it will be with you today or tommorow.. hope you like it
just popping by to get this back on threads i'm on, am busy working on magazine article stuff, off to visit a local craft gallery later who may/may not take my work, and will go charity shop trawling while i'm there, it's in the next village, they have good charity there, plus there's a old book shop too.
blogged a few bracelets and some rocky road yesterday.. trying to sort some house jobs today.. and DH at home getting in the way of my computing and my crafting gerr... need to spend some more time chatting really... I suppose I shal go get a few jobs done..

Lovely bracelets dior!
I have
blogged a couple of mini projects I am working up for my friend's cancer charity craft stall. She is a ceramicist but also a FT teacher and has gone into full panic mode to try and put enough stuff together to make a stall! I offered her a box of stuff I made last year but can't find the box now

, so am madly knitting and crocheting in my spare moments! (oh and if anyone has any proper corks (ie not plastic ones) I would be very grateful ...

oh they are gorgeous dior! well tonight im going to have a glass of vino and get my oils out and get painting! wish me luck!

The children went back to school MOnday and I had such high crafty hopes but I am absolutely shattered. My poor old body wants to collapse and sleep for a week but my little brain is on overdrive.
I have
blogged a few bits and bobs recently but I have loads of crafty stuff outstanding still and some really exciting news I have to hush about...oooh, scary stuff!

I'm so behind on here... I have hardly done any crafting this week... I'm hopeing to get some done tommrow.. finish off the fairy tale swap, do a bit more on the robot swap.. and um I cant remeber what else I need to get done.. but anythign that is craft related and not house related would make me a happy bunny.

Yep, I ought to do the same, night Dior.

Oh yes, I want to make something like that for throwing my work uniform in when I want to wander into town in the morning and go straight to work from there.

We've had lots of rain today but it's stopped now, glad you're doing well though. My crafting's going well just can't get round to completing anything

, well apart from said top.
My mate now wants a peg bag so I've bought fabric for that, she keeps msning me every night to ask how her peg bag is coming along

Not yet, haven't had a chance to get ds to photograph me with it on, he's started his courses this week and they are a bit full on. He's spent most of the weekend compiling his Art project.
Am a bit fed up with myself too, mum's in hospital having her elbows and shoulder done and the two men of the house have both got the man hump/flu, so am not much fun at the moment.
Ah well, could be worse, could be raining.
How's you?

Ohh Dior is it on the blog?
Welcome jas btw.
Have been doing lots of crafting but no blogging, been doing lots of different things as my boredom threshold is low of late.
I have however made myself a very nice top, which I actually wore to do the school run yesterday <<puffs with pride>>

talking of blogs
i have
blogged todaysome full on button over indulgence

if you go on dingles lovely blog there's a link for free downloads for blogs.
dingle's blog
You need to have a play round with colours/fonts to get it how you like it, jaz

- what are you using, is it blogger? There are lots of blogger users on here (I'm not one of them though!) - post a link and they can help sort you out! (Miaou now retires having offered other people's help

)
Hmmmmmm ive tried this blog malarky and mine looks awful - how come other peeps are full of colour and look really professional?

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I do appreciate it !
VV - fair point and it did cross my mind to offer these as a customised option but would worry they wouldn't look like the original - I do worry

I do think though that if I continue with these, it's the route to go.
Hubby also said that the eyes didn't look right somehow but I've kept true to dd's interpretation on these but tend to agree they could do with a bit more expression.
I love to experiment and it's good to get good old fashioned honest feedback so thanks all again

I'm off to have a peruse in blogland now.
Tillyboo, (hello!!), I think they are a lovely idea, but I think the eyes need "filling in" to give them a little more personality. I like the scribble effect of the sewing though, very effective!

have
blogged about the Marehay show I had a stall at and the last few pieces I put on flickr.
off to have a coffee and watch DH build the new wardrobe.. it should be fun...

casualty anyone?
hmmmm. . . . i'm not too keen on mr & mrs scribbles - i think if it was a picture your own child had done any parent would love it.
maybe you could offer customised pieces?
i much prefer your parping pooch and your lovely fairytale appliques.
god it's really hard giving a negative response
i have a fresh blog post
here
Welcome to all the new faces !
Had a bit of a catch up on everyone else's blogs ... some lovely work going on.
I've been beavering away on a 'Miss Scribbles' today so I've blogged herWhat d'you think ? I'm not really sure there'd be a market for these on my website (still under construction) so would appreciate some honest opinions

oh thany you guys, this is the start of my creativity although my little darlink was up at 3am and then 5 and my eyes have serious bags under them - aaaaaaargh
Hi Jaz, sometimes I follow patterns, sometimes I make it up as I go along! The denim bag with the red polka dot frill is my own design. That one I blogged today is from a pattern (there is a link on the blog post).

have added a few photos to flickr two bracelets.. one strawberry quartz and jade.. and the other is onyx and red jade ( it looks fantastic i want to keep it or possibly eat it as it looks delicious) .. and a pic of part of my fairy tale swap.. and embroidered napkin with the frog prince on... oh and a WIP a little ghost named Gilbert...he is embroidered from a doodle in my notebook and will be painted at a later date.. oh and his eyes are meant to be all black with litle white reflections but I didn't get that far yet..
flickr things
be brave - go on!!!!!
thanks GM - if I feel brave I will take a couple of photos and put them on my profile tomorrow for further valuations

not at all. I think that's very reasonable.
I make traditional looking lop eared bunnies about 40cm long and little fabric bears (smaller)
various people have asked me to make them a bunny or a bear (or both) people putting in orders for Christmas pressies - I have turned the orders down and said that I will sell individually when they are made but I do it because I enjoy it and don't want to feel pressured.
so I was thinking £10 for a bunny - £5 for a bear. does that sound like a rip off?
hello he-man

I don't think there's any hard or fast rule to pricing...I just pluck random figures out of the air, and hope for the best...other people will (no doubt) have a far better policy.
can I crash your party to ask a question?
for those who sell your wears... how do you work out pricing?
**************yippee**************welcome back Meridian

oooo yes VV - where's your shop & I can add it to the favourites on mine. I need to get better photos on mine next time.
VV - gis a link to your folksy shop then, please
oh and who/what is behind crafteroo? is it a safe haven for those who like to chatter
oh and i opened a "folksy shop"

i have blogged a little teaser of my WIP for the "fairytale swap"
here
Hi LK- Oh, that's fab ! Thanks so much. DH has been trying to find how to do it so he'll impressed with this.
Blogged my new hairdo and a few more dippies that I made today
it was me, it's a little tricky but all is explained
hereread the tutorial through a couple of times until it all starts to make sense before having a go. i made my own favicon in photoshop and then saved it as a .jpg. the tutorial tells you to store the image as a blog post, change the date of the post so it doesn't appear in your current stuff, i did mine so it is my very first post, see
herethe tricky part is adding the correct code into your existing blog template in the 'edit html' page, if it doesn't work, it will be the code is in the wrong place or isn't correct. anyway, the tutorial on blogger buster explains it all, if you get stuck, let me know.
I remember a while back someone - I think it was LucyKate, but I may have got that wrong ??? -
told us how to put our own icon in a weblink in the address bar but I can't remember how to do it. If it was you LucyKate could you please share your wisdom and put me out of my misery

poor you Whizz - mind you we got married there in the middle of August, in a dense FOG. It was so cold we had a peat fire at the reception. You'd think I would learn my lesson and go somewhere else. Next year, I SWEAR I am not going near the place (they'll have a heatwave no doubt!)
ok, back to my emails [yawn]
Nice to be back!
Hi JG - we went to Ireland on hour honeymoon & it rained all the time. I'm sure there was some fantastic scenery there somewhere under the clouds

am back from a misty, rainy, exhausting break in Ireland. I grew up there but even my bleakest memories didn't contain THAT much rain. Still, twas fun being away from London and shwoing the kids the countryside, in between showers.
Haven't been through everything but will be cathing up on blogs and everyone's activities later on. Hope you are all well and have had good summers.
I have almost 3,000 emails in my work inbox today though so that's going to take a while to sort out. Expect me back in December

Hi all - your new stuff looks good Tilly (have I said that I love your blog with the little funky coloured shapes - really eyecatching)
I've not done anything crafty. We went to a country show type thing on Saturday - there was a craft marquee. One nice jewellery stall, one run of the mill jewellery stall where I recognised most of the beads so we must shop at the same online places! and one mass produced shipped in 'jewellery' stall. There were no really eye catching crafts - all 'granny' type knitting & boring cushion covers.
Sunday we went to Chester & I finished off writing another Treasure Hunt - it just needs tweeking & testing before I send it off to the website.
I have gained another person that likes my Folksy shop, but don't really want to add anythign else too it - although I have loads of ideas for tiles!
Spent yesterday night banging away at the sewing machine, I have (nearly) made myself a top, went to put the facing in and realised I'd ran out of cotton and couldn't be asked to go upstairs and fetch some more.
So I kicked my feet back and watched Walked the Line. Must blog at some point, my dear old blog is gathering moss!
It's very quiet ... has everyone been beamed up by aliens ? Where is everyone ?
Been experimenting with some new things so I've bloggedI'll be a 'Billy No Mates' this evening then

Rofl at Whizzz, how the hell did I miss that last night

.
I shall report back tomorrow on number of burly drag queens.
Just blogged, but just off for a walk to make the most of the sunshine.
Will catch up with posts/ blogs later ...
We've had some sunshine today, yippee !
It is very <cough>

(and I'm not even a proper snob!!)

Oh Dior - I love Frinton.
We watched the Air Show from Canvey Island once (I wasn't keen on it there

)
Ranting - they have a Supremes exhibition at the V&A ?? Ooooo what fancy stuff they have in that London place

(can you tell I'm a northern lass!)
I bet its full of big blokes who moonlight as female impersonators, looking for inspiration

<<strokes yarn>>

Is that like a ritual? 'And now Dior shall perform the stroking of the beads'!!

Dior, do you have pics of your wip then, I am curious.
We're doing 'not a lot' this weekend, although I have booked to take dd to the Supremes exhibition at the V&A, she wants to see the sparkly dresses.

glad they've arrived ok, i was doing some tidying in my sewing room and came across all the paper mache bits and thought of you!
LK Thankyou for the music pages

They are fabbo & I might even try ageing a bit with the goood old tea bag trick!
we're going to go to colchester zoo on saturday if it's raining and we can't go to the beach. fil says the air show is on clacton beach on friday, so we might make it there after doing the trains/thomas thingy.
Yes Dior, we have been a few times before but I think I was pregnant with DD last time we where there.
It didn't take us that long to get up there but it was a nightmare trying to get make over the bridge on the way home!
Loved the zoo, well worth the journey!

Well the holidays have been a total wash out down here. What with DS breaking his toe and then the following week knocking himself out....and the rain, we have hardly even been out in the garden, let alone out.
We had one good day out at Colchester zoo at the beginning of the hols but my hopes are pinned on next week as DH is off of work and it's the run up to DS's 9th(!) birthday!
I am hoping the weather will be kind, I don't want scorching hot sunshine but DRY would be nice for even a few days!
Must stop waffling and get on!!!

To be honest I'm not sure - want to go camping but don't want to go if its going to be chocka-block (I thought bank hol was next weekend - der!) - would rather chill in the garden & drink wine in our gazebo!
Bank Holiday = lots of rain usually

. Not checked the forecast, but I'm not hopeful.
I think I may try and bribe DH into taking the kids off somewhere so I can finish the fairy tale swap. And I may also try to get some rest in readyment for my upcoming work pressure!!
what's everyone up to for the bank holiday? and even more important, is it going to rain?

Hope Meri gets sorted quickly - moving is a tad stressful !
I've blogged some mess and also a new commission piece.
It's for a very, very old lady who's having a birthday at the start of September. I hope it'll cheer her residential home bedroom up - bless her, she's well into her nineties and only has one visitor who bothers about her.
I'm relieved she's finally moved and in. Send her our best.
Send her my love if you speak to her again.
have had a text from meri - they are in the new house, no internet yet, so she's offline for a bit though.
No problem whizz.
VV - have left you a bloggy message
Very nice VV.

feeling rather inspired after peeking into the Folksy shop. Some beautiful work there.
Whizzz - your scrabble pendants are so pretty but I worry you are underselling them at that price! As soon as I have got my finances in order post holiday/work on the house, I will be revisiting and doing a little bit of early Christmas shopping.
Hello Lemontart, come join us, we aaallll float down here

Beggar, got to go, dh wants the flaming lappy.

Look in 'YOur Profile' under 'Your Shop - People who Favourite you'

In total awe of you guys and wish I was more artistic

Good luck with the move Meri, hope you'll soon be sorted.
Have to look at your shop too Whizzz, been away a few days and feel like it's been ages.

Meri - yes I have become addicted

Best of luck with the move!
Dior - no I don't make cards anymore (hence trying to still get rid of 'stuff') - they are quite light so could be stuck on the front (as in when I used to put jewellery onto a card I suppose!)
Am made up that 3 people have 'favourited' my Folksy shop & only 1 is a MNer that I know of!!

Seems everyone is busy busy busy. It's raining again here and we've had a house full of kids this morning and only just got back from the park - needed some fresh air and space.
May work on some commissions later today, just having a quick catch up

Crikey things are on the up for everyone!!

. Good luck all.
