I am hoping to have a copy of this dress made for my wedding day but I don't know where to start with looking for the right fabrics or even what I am looking for, to be honest. Names, etc and if at all possible a good website would be really appreciated!

Thank you :-)

Ooh depends if you want the dress made in already beaded fabric or will the beading be added afterwards?

I would normally recommend myfabrics.co.uk as you can order swatches and they have a huge range. But in this case I'd first talk with your dressmaker and see what they suggest

Maybe you can find sari fabric with a similar design?
I would imagine hand beading plain fabric would be ££££ but you can get beaded motifs which could be placed?

Macculloch and Wallace is another haberdashery you could try, they have a shop in London as well as a website - some lovely (but £££) silk fabrics

Some lovely fabrics here, although they're veeeeery pricey. Their shop is in Berwick St in London - The Silk Society.

Goldhawk Rd in Shepherd's Bush would be worth checking out, lots of fabric shops there, and loads of beaded/sari-type fabrics. It'd be massively cheaper too, I'd imagine.

Hi, I am posting here again as I've made no progress so far. I suspect that I need to take a day to go to a big city and visit fabric shops. London? Anywhere else in the country? We are going to Dubai at the end of the year, has anyone bought fabric there? To make a similar dress, but slightly more 'flowy', I've been advised to get embroidered silk chiffon...
Thank you in advance for any suggestions!
