Crochet patterns for clothes - that aren't from the 1970s!

I would really like to crochet something for me - a cardigan or jumper. Something warm and snuggly for the winter. But SO many of the patterns I've seen on ravelry etc look like they escaped from the 70s! Confused

Can you recommend or suggest any?

I'm also really keen on this Aran yarn (king cole fashion Aran)

Try the Rowan magazines, (or Marie Wallin as designer) - there are always a couple of lovely crochet patterns that I look at enviously (I'm not a great crocheter). Although IIRC they are often in a finer yarn, DK, I guess because crochet makes a thicker fabric.

Also, I think, Interweave Knits have a crochet magazine from the same publisher, Crochet Me, their patterns are quite edgy so perhaps there might be something to suit?

There are loads of lovely free patterns here: Drops Garnstudio and all in UK terms. I have just ordered the wool this evening to make myself a skirt from here, not at all '70's (I hope Wink )

ThreeFroglets those patterns are gorgeous. Am always trying to find crochet patterns that won't make me look like I'm a faded Woodstock hippy!
