I'm going to make a blanket for ds. He has been slightly forgotten in terms of my crochet making! Blush

I'm thinking of making a solid granny square (not sure of right term but little tin bird does them) His current favourite colours are turquoise and orange.

What do you think of this colour palette?

Very nice :)

Have you thought about adding in Saffron?

I like it, as it's not a childish range of colours. What would it look like with navy instead of petrol?

Do you live in a wool shop? Wink Shock

I hadn't thought of using yellow - will need to ask ds as yellow might be a 'girl colour' Hmm

I am in awe that your stash is large enough, and organised enough to find those colours so quickly!

Let's ask owl if she has navy in her stash too! Wink

Will go fiddle some more with my wool warehouse basket .... :)

Do you really think I have the entire Stylecraft colour range in my living room?

This is Midnight, which I think is Navy.

I prefer the Petrol TBH.

Hmmm, can't see a navy in wool warehouse. They do 'midnight' but it looks very very dark.

Saffron is an orangey yellow rather than a bright yellow. It goes well with the Petrol and Spice

owl you are impressive! :)

Midnight/ navy is definitely too dark

:o

I don't actually have the entire range in my living room. The brighter pinks etc are in a box in my wardrobe

What about aster? It's a sort of cornflower blue, I love it.

Oh is Spice a new colour? Love it. And Petrol. That's new too isn't it?

I really like your colour scheme and prefer the Petrol to the Navy.

I ordered a Stylecraft colour card from one of the online shops. It has punched holes with a small sample of each colour and is invaluable for putting together colours at home. I've just looked it up and it was from Masons and only costs £2.

Ds has been rather specific about turquoise, rather than light blue - polar opposite of his colour blind father! :)
The turquoise is fairly bright but I'm hoping that will lift the other colours which are a bit autumnal.

A colour sample card would be super useful - but then I think I would end up buying way more yarn - because I'd be able to put colour schemes together more easily! Blush
