Getting together with a group of friends to make craft items for sale, but lots have no experience and lack confidence in their ability to make something lovely. I'm firmly convinced they'll be making something lovely, just need some ideas that can be made without being able to sew (at all), knit etc. Do any of you lovely ladies have any suggestions? I thought hair clips with felt flowers that could be glued on or decoupage coasters might work and be small projects.

Yu could try looking at pinterest for some craft ideas, often they have instruction too.

If its too sell really you need to think about what will sell and work back.

My friend makes Xmas decorations (I know the wrong season!) by getting styrofoam balls and pinning sequins onto them. They look fab and you can't go wrong with them.
Decoupage letters and animals are easy and I bet would sell too
Maybe look at what kind of things are to be sold and go from there?
Crochet coasters wouldn't be too hard to learn either

Ooh, like the idea of sequins and pins! And must have a look at Pinterest, although could be dangerous! Going to go for decopatch on ikea mirrors this week. I've never actually done it but it looks like fun and I think the mirrors would sell for just more than they cost to make!

I agree with think of what will sell (a good time to think about prices too) and work back from that.

Jewellery (ie stringing beads Wink) might be an option.

What about this 'hug in a box'?

familycrafts.about.com/od/giftsforanyone/a/huggiftbox.htm. It needn't be as big or fancy as this example. I've seen them done with match boxes. You can buy blank boxes from places like The Range I believe.

Basic card making, making phone charms from Fimo clay pushed into silicone fondant icing moulds then attached to mini lanyards when baked. Decoupage small jam jars to make tea lights.

Thank you all! I've just found this again, it had dropped off my threads I'm on list. Having lots of crafting fun. So far we've done decopatch mirrors, pretty butterfly pictures and appliqué bunnies. Love the fimo idea.
