Bit of a boring question but ..... bobbin storage?

I have been trawling the net for bobbin boxes and there are loads. The plain plastic ones with a lid don't look very secure and I like the look of the foam ones but I can't find a UK supplier.

What do you sewing ladies use and which boxes are the best?

Thanks birdbrain. Does the lid shut firmly on this one?

Ah, jusr re-read your post- you mean the small bobbin that goes in the bottom of the sewing machine.... (I'm from oop north where a 'bobbin' covers several things )

I use the same type as birdbrain.

Can confirm the lid is secure as I dropped mine downstairs earlier!

I use silicone bobbin holders, they are round and don't break.

I will try and link a photo later

I have one of these Clover bobbin storage tower and it is fab. You can lift layers off so when I go to a class I can take the layer I need rather than all of it. It's smaller than it looks in the pic though, think my IL's were disappointed when it arrived and they ended up with only a tiny gift for me for Xmas (I, of course, loved it because I've been wanting one for ages)

I didn't even know these things exist either! I just chuck mine in the little storage box in the sewing machine. I only have four and have to keep changing the cotton all the time. I really should get out more...

I have these which keep the bobbins with the matching threads.

A tip I found on Pinterest is to put these wee hairbands round the bobbins to stop them unravelling. Brilliant Smile

I too have the same one as Birdbrain it needed to fit in a small drawer so it was perfect. I got mine from Amazon.

A little cardboard box with a lid, secured by elastic band Blush. Has about 10 bobbins in. Also has spare needles, seam ripper and half a pencil for seam marking.
I am getting bobbin box envy now.

I've got one of those little sets of clear plastic drawers from a diy place.

There are about 16 drawers in total, each one can hold several bobbins or spools of thread.
