hello all,
so, i'm looking for gift ideas for keen knitting/crocheting DW. I bought a complete set of bamboo needles last year that went down well, as well as various pattern books over the years.
Can any keen knitters etc. suggest any useful bits of (cheapish) kit, or other bits and bobs, that you wouldn't be without or have found useful?
thanks!

Nice crochet hook set? Knitpro.eu is a good site for good cushioned ones. The "Lucy pack" on deramores.com is a nice selection of acrylic yarns.
What a thoughtful gift idea Smile

Stitch markers are a great idea - they can be really pretty. A binder for her printed out patterns, a large box for her stash of wool.

What I would love is a guaranteed hour a week free of distractions where i am allowed to sit and concentrate on my craft without any any interrupting. With a cup of tea brought to me for sustenance!

Are you handy with a hammer? Got some spare space at home? A part of the house which could be devoted to my crafts would be incredible. A corner with some dedicated shelves and drawers for my bits and bobs, a small table, a bookshelf or even a comfy armchair and a radio to sit and crochet to my hearts content. think of it as a woman's equivalent to a man shed.

Anything which shows her that you understand her obsession, you want her to do it and you appreciate the things she makes.

What a lovely husband you are!

Stitch directory books.
Cast on/bind off book.
A class - many yarn shops run classes, you could buy her a place on one of them in something she likes or would like to learn.
A knitting magazine subscription.
Stitch markers - Etsy so some lovely special ones.
Project bags.
Voucher for her local yarn shop.

A lovely basket for yarn.
A yarn bowl.
Symfonie knitpro crochet hooks or knitting needles.

If you are my DH, I'd really like a wood yarn bowl pleaseWinkGrin

if she's a keen user of the Internet an online class from Craftsy might be good.
Otherwise yes a hank of lovely sock yarn always comes in usefulSmile

I have a lovely bag that folds down and then when you open it, it stands up by itself - it came from hobbycraft I think.
