Ever made a patchwork quilt/blanket out of special baby outfits?

I don't know if I'm skilled enough to do it but it sounds like a brilliant idea.

How hard do you reckon it would be?

I am a real novice I can sew a button on and turn trousers up Smile

Sounds like a great idea! I reckon it would be pretty easy - look up crazy patchworking as that technique is ideal for using up scraps and the odd shapes that you might cut out of small garments.

There's a good tutorial here actually:

This is how I learned and it was really easy. You don't have to do the decorate stage, or you can embellish as you go along e.g. add bits of ribbon or trim as you sew your patches down.

hi. I've made a couple. It's harder than normal patchwork because the clothes can be fiddly but if you cut up the seams and iron them out its easier. I've mostly done patchwork squares with mine, using extra fabric to fill in the gaps (it can be hard to get them all the same size) but if you like applique you could use them in a design. my favourite one I've done was a tree where all the leaves were made from pieces of baby dresses. Also if you are using things like baby gros or t-shirts you might find it easier if you back them with some very light iron on interfacing first to give more stability. enjoy!

Hi smudge

I have been practicing put squares together and was planning on cutting the item up in to a square and doing it that way.

Your tree sounds lovely I am not that talent unfortunately. Mil keeps hinting she wants to do it because she is sooo amazing but I will never learn

Few more days practice and I'll be better than her Wink
