Asda have sold out of the damned ears and I'm now out of ideas. We have a white t shirt, poster paints, coloured sharpies (I think).

Can I just use those to make the white t shirt spotty or will it look shit? I am in no way crafty.

Could pop out in the morning to get some things as he's only at nursery in the afteenoons, but what and from where? Should also note I'm skint.

I do this every year, I have a book of round stickers of all different colours and I stick them on their school jumpers.

I wouldn't hesitate to paint/draw a few spots on a plain t-shirt - I get fed up with them dictating what type of mufti they should wear. I can see that it generates a bit of excitement for the kids but it's a PITA and if you have to buy something specially it negates the point of giving money to charity. Get your DC to join in the painting so you've got his buy-in and aren't just presenting him with something he might turn his nose up at.

Or if you are that unsure about painting, put some sticky dots on the T-shirt, our post office sells about 200 of them for 99p. It's only got to last a couple of hours.

Yes last year I put stickers on DSs jumpers and they came back with the stickers on their foreheads.

and he's at nursery - what is it, some kind of fashion-forward nursery with Kate Moss and Stella McCartney as the judges parents? Grin. Stop worrying and get the felt tip pens out.............

  • when you've done with it, draw some rings around the dots + add surgical spirit- it will bleed the ink into a the dye effect, something he can wear again Wink

Oh, that's a great tip! Thanks! It actually turned out really well and ds loves it so we shall be keeping the top as is and using it as messy top.
