not sure if it's an ebay charges thing...or a sizzix copyright thing...a lot of sites aren't allowed to show sizzix images.

You can refer to sizzix.com for sizes, and code numbers.

o
is rugbycrafts a registered sizzix outlet? just thinking that if im spending that much money, then spending an extra fiver should get peace of mind?

Personally I've never had any problems with rugbycrafts. I think he's great and tbh buy most stuff of him. I did buy the machine from beaniebuddy though and think he's fab also

I bought my machine from beanie buddy and the dies from rugby as that is what worked out cheapest then. Both were quick delivery and fab.

Oh and yes they are really worth it.

Also UKScrappers sometimes has cheapish second hand dies in The Marketplace. Remember there though that you have to have aminimum of 10 posts before you can use the PM facility to contact the seller

just when i had managed to convince myself i dont need one.....
is a sizzix better or a bigshot?

stitch-potentially the Big Shot is better. It is new and can cut bigger dies, cards with apertures, likkle bag shapes...all sorts. It's lighter...BUT I think personally I would wait until the teething problems seem to have been resolved. So many people are having the cutting plates break on them still.

Whether you can wait that long will be another matter.

i went to a local craft shop and got the lady to demonstrate the bigshot. they also recommended the bigshot. but what you say about the teething problems sounds very true. she wsant very impressed with the way it did the embossing. not as much as she thought it woul dbe. mind you , she did opend the packet of the bigshot up in front of me.
what to do, what to do...

Personally I would buy a Sizzix not a bigshot at this time. If you get right on in there then it's worth buying one at a later date. But TBH I have a sizzix and I bought it instead of a BS, the only thing is, it makes you lazy so instead of thinking up elaborate ways to make a card, you cut a shape. IMO.

I have spent 750 so far with sizzix. It will take me a long time to recuperate that money.

omg.
thats a very good reason not to buy a sizzix.
thank you for telling me that.

I don't understand
I got a free sizzix embossing pad with my Big Shot
it spelt out Friends! I embossed it with mirror card & 285grm cards and the embossing was spot on, very defined.
I'm baffled, did she have the white board at the bottom and put the card and embosser between two pieces of clear thin plastic facing up.

she just used the one pieace of paper. not sure what its weight was.
but she literally just opened it up in front of me. and the paper was the first to hand.

i do want one, but sooooo expensive

I know they are expensive at the moment and if the plates brake it's a bloody nuisance.

There's nothing wrong with the original sizzix machine it does everything and as I said if you get the convertor you can cut any other company dies like Quickcuts and Accucuts. When I got my original sizzix they were £70.00 they're nearly half that price now.

Overdone that a bit. Meant 450, was adding something else unrelated on.

But when I add up what I have spent on crafting altogether now. It's easily gone over the 1000 mark over the last 6 months.
