not a sidekick...not very versatile.

sizzix plus covertor so you can use the dies meant for the sidekick in the sizzix

down side is the sizzix is much bigger and heavier

Personally I would for the larger sizzix machine. You can only use the sizzlits in the sidekick but in the larger machine you can use the original dies and the sizzlits (with a convertor)

You can also cut quickutz dies with the convertor and a little adaptor plate.

Agree about the full size sizzix machine. I have probably used my alphabet more times than my other dies- I would say an alphabet is far more useful than most shapes. Also shop around you can get some good deals from ebay particulary if you are prepared to buy from the states.

AQ
Touch wood mines been ok, I've cut with both the thin & thick dies. I cut a load of flowers last night seems to be OK.
DH got mine for christmas for me from the little craft shop in Chester market, I don't know if it was a different batch from that rugby shop.

AQ I have new plates too - I ordered some from another supplier (luckily ordered two sets) as was fed up waiting for RC to deliver!!!

Mine have just cracked completely in two on the second cut with them! Clearly the problem is not yet solved.

Were they all from Beaniebuddy?

I haven't ever got from US so I can't reallty compare prices, but you have got good prices as far as I am concerned.

I did manage to get my GAW set for £50, but that was from Rugby Crafts when they had their sale on!

There will be no stopping you now!

soapbox..i have receieved these ones from RC as replacements but also ordered an extra set which haven't yet arrived.

are you still managing to cut?

AQ - I luckily bought two sets which means I can keep going for now. It is a pain though!

Someone of UK scrappers recommended using an A4 self healing mat cut in two which others are saying works well.

Capture the magic where I got the plates for have been great though - I only emailed them about it 30mins ago and we've already exchanged several emails!

They are going to talk to Ellison tomorrow so will have a better idea after thet've done so.

soapbox... Capture are fab! Dh bought my bigshot from them for my birthday after another supplier couldn't get it here in time. He organised for mine to arrive the next day (on time) by email. So far so good with the plates but I have noticed that one of them is bent - presumably from going under the machine?

I have ordered from beanie buddy a couple of times and they were quick and efficient.

I haven't heard of anyone having problems with Beanie buddy, very good, speedy delivery.

beanie buddy is absolutely fabaroonie.

I had a problem with my sizzix a week after i bought it i noticed a crack in it. it must have been there from the courier. anyway i emailed him and he arranged to have the old one picked up and a new one delivered the next day. No arguments, no hassle, just fantastic service

Beanie buddy is great. However, I bought some Sizzix goodies recently from the states. They are gorgeous. They were delivered reasonably quickly and were half the price they would be here.

Without meaning to be controversial or start a barney or anything I've always had excellent service from www.rugbycrafts.co.uk

Some poeple have had problems but I've found him to be fab and the cheapest with dies.

As I say beaniebuddy was cheaper on the actual machine and the alphas but RC is cheaper on dies

I just hope that now RC have got their new website up and running it will improve the service they offer.....having loads of dies on back order gets very confusing for them and they end up over looking orders!
Running such a big offer on the BS must be a nightmare for them with so many people placing orders.
Im not too impressed with the dies that beanie sells...everyone Ive ever ordered has arrived in a cracked case and the dies never seem to cut properly....some of the alpha dies I ordered from him were badly damaged too....me thinks they could be seconds?????
There is a US trade site that sells off seconds and ships to the UK....ummmmm?????
I'd rather stick to a registerd approved Sizzix retailer.....most on ebay are not.
Very happy with the service I get from my US supplier and love the reduced price I pay

Enjoy your sizzix JARM....you will become soooooo addicted
