...and help me out please!

As if I haven't got enough to do cardmaking I want to attempt a couple of scrapping xmas presents.

I initially thought about making the "grandparents" a mini album of the children . But now I am having second thoughts. Perhaps buying a larger album and making only one or two layouts for christmas. That way I could "extend" the album over time and do an extra layout for mothers day...etc..opinions please...where do I| start?

Also I have a concern over glue!¬ I tend to use mainly 3D pads,PVA or D/S tape for my cards or very occasionally I use spray mount. Can you advise me on what your preferences are for scrapbooking please.

You've lost me!
Buy 'em scrapbooks and some glue and let them make their own! That way they're not short of something to do!

Well then, it's a nice idea. And I re-reading I think I get it now. You want to leave extra room in the books for new additions? A definite yes to this, so long as you let them choose which additions, that way they feel that they are involved in it too and it becomes even more personal!

great pressie idea Dingle...Ive been making one up for my sis of the Ds's.
I use DS tape to hold everything in place...all the piccies I have used I have copied so I know that they wont get damaged in years to come by any stray acid embellishments....acid danage takes about 100 years though so I'll not be around to worry about it then will I!

How about a tag book - I'm making two for the grandparents for Christmas - or an accordian book (godparents getting these).

Have a look at tag book or accordian book .

Well I want to dust my album off and start again in the New Year, but it has been in the cupboard under the stairs for so long now. Even then I never really got into it, I have only ever done one double layout at a scrapping party. OMG that was 3 years ago, I remeber because we had only just had the conservatory put up!

So you don't necessarily worry about acidity in your glues. Great.

Any advice on albums JM? I noticed there was another thread that mention CC's albums. Funnily enough I looked at them last night, I get 10% off so thought they were bargains, but DH didn't like them!but what does he know!

I thought both my mum and SH's mum would really appreciate the work that goes into it and it would give me a bit of a boost to get involved in something other that DD's therapies.

Dingle...Ive made the tag book and the accordian book from the link Fubbs put up....they are really lovely to make and dont take too long. You could make one of those and complete it by christmas so they have a full book of piccies.
Takes the pressure off you and then in the new year you could start the Album and add pages for Mothers Day, Easter etc.

I just know that I started an album for a friend and gave it too her with four DLO's in it and it looked so naff giving her something half done IYKWIM...she did appreciate it and loves it but I just wished I'd filled it.

Thank you. I might have a look over the weekend and make my mind up. Whatever happens, thanks for the links Fubbs, they do look very tempting.
