Have you sorted this Jenum71? I would love to knit him for you, only trouble is the lack of my time especially now I am doing my xmas cards, and the fact that I would want to keep him when he was finished. I am a bit of a bear fan!

If you still need someone I would ask my mum if she would knit him for you. LMK.

Jenum, I could do it for you if Dingle feels she hasn't enough time. I've knitted toys before and would love to knit one of those ones! It's gorgeous.

Thanks both of you! Thats really kind!

What would be the best thing to do? If I bought the kit and send it to you? Oh and how much would you want for doing it?

my mum is a fantastic knitter..... she makes bears out of the same yarn that POPCORN bear is made from.....but wouldn't be able to make the blanket....however if you paid for the kit...she could make him EXACTLY as the picture on that link!

At a guess she'd charge £5 for making it

Miaou · 28/09/2005 09:59

If you bought the kit and sent it to me Jenmum, I would do it for you.

I was going to ask for a tenner for doing it, but it looks a bit steep next to MrsForgetful's offer!. Tbh, I'd do it just for the pleasure of it (couldn't afford to buy a kit myself!!!)

Anyway, you make your mind up who is to knit it .... don't want to push myself forward

have you ever gone on the yahoo gallery that we use here to show our handmade cards.....

i have put some photoes on there of some cards i have made using some of mum's miniature bears...i can put some examples of her larger bears there if you like ...or contact me and i can email you direct some photos.

we have sold on ebay b4- and the postage was the worst bit...as some of these bears weigh a bit- and often it cost £4 to post something that cost £2 in yarn...and that's £6...b4 you even add anything on for the making it!!!

she is very fussy about her creations...they never look handmade!!!

I would probably finish the blanket in the kit for you- as i am the sewing fan...

It sounds as if you are sorted Jenum71. I may well have just had to kidnap him anyway!

The offer is still there if you ever need it, but I will leave you in capable hands!

Enjoy your bear!

how important is the blanket?????

cos mum has loads of assorted 'popcorn bear' type yarn.... and could easily make you a 'small' version.... yarn and making for a tenner(3 balls of yarn used = £6)...i know that cos she's in the middle of doing a chocolate brown one at the moment for my careworker....... the yarn she uses is called 'eskimo' or 'Funky Fur'...and it knits up all spikey....i love the little darlings!!!!

Thanks ever so much Dingle for volunteering to be a surragate bear knitter!

Dont think I could risk you kidnapping him though! lol!

The blanket is not really that important tbh.

I just sooo love popcorn bear - I have just bought the seasons cross stitch kits, the advent calendar and the cushion cover kit

naughty I know, but I cant resist - I will prob never get the time to do them!

Yup Jen, no probs - if you CAT me I will send you my address details and you can send me yours (to send the completed bear to). I can sew too (clever, I am ) so I can do the blanket too.

Unless you want to take Mrs F up on her offer... up to you!
