mine is this afternoon. i'm 35, 3rd baby. screening was never mentioned in my previous pregnancies, obviously due to my age. I only signed up to it coz it sounded fairly non-invasive and I hadn't thought about it at all beforehand and kind of had to decide at my last appointment.

what exactly does it tell me/not tell me? I gather it's more about probabilities that actual results? at what percentage/probability do you leave it vs going for something like an amnioscentisis (sp)?

Just wanted to say I hope it went well this afternoon. You're right it's about probabilities...it's not diagnostic at all. Essentially it says of all the pregnancies like yours, 1 in x had that particular problem.

In case it helps, I was originally given a 1:174 chance of trisomy 18, at which point we decided against an invasive CVS, and instead opted for the Harmony test, which isn't diagnostic, but the probabilities they give you are supposed to be very accurate. However, at the private clinic they revised my risk to 1:4. Balancing that up against the risk from the CVS we've now decided to not have the Harmony test, but are having a CVS on Thursday.

Good luck with your results.
