Bad reaction to CVS test

I had a CVS test today and have a 25% chance of having a baby with a genetic condition.

Had a really bad experience and nearly fainted when I left the room, I laid down tried to leave again got to the lift and nearly fainted again so they kept me in for a while.

I was shaking, ears ringing, dizzy, vision blurry.

Has anyone else ever had a reaction like this? It's really put me off having it done again been hard enough as it is.

Now I'm worrying about results :(

Very sorry to hear this. How anxious were you before you had it? Do you think it could be an anxiety reaction rather than the CVS itself? Did they explain to you what the CVS would involve beforehand? Did you find it very painful or take longer than you thought?

Hope you are feeling better.

Hi, I'm quite good with things like that just get on with it, I was slightly nervous but they said it s a very unusual reaction but died happen apparently to do with blood sugar levels.

The test it's self wasn't plesent I just closed my eyes, they didn't get enough the first time so had to go in again which made things worse.

They sx

Hi LBNM19, how are you today? I had a very similar reaction when I had my CVS a few years back. Actually collapsed at the lifts trying to leave the building. I hope you are ok for the next CVS.

I also had a big bleed a few hours after the CVS, but scan a couple of days later showed that baby was still there and unaffected by the CVS or blood loss.

Hope you are ok x

Hello, I'm feeling much better now, pretty scary though and has defiantly put me off, I've not had any cramping or bleeding so pleased about that :)

Hi, I had mine almost two weeks ago and yes, I felt awful for three whole days afterwards! I managed to get home ok but by the evening developed terrible stomach pains, dizziness and absolute fatigue. This stuck with me like I said for three days! Very odd considering it is something relatively simple. Glad you are feeling better now. xxx
