Antenatal tests

NT of 3.3 at 12 week scan

Just had my 12 week scan, baby measuring right on for dates, moving around, looking good. In fact the sonographer didn't even mention the Nuchal measurement but when I read the notes at home I saw it was 3.3. Now I'm panicking! Obviously it doesn't tell us anything on its own but it seems high. How much should I worry right now?! Why didn't she mention it - she said baby looked fine!

Try not to worry to much.I know that's easier said than done. My Nhs scan said myn was 2.4 (FMC then measured it at 2.1) But even at the 2.4 I found horror storys google really isn't your friend!

Thanks. After a night of no sleep I called my midwife this morning and she said it's not possible to know if there's anything to worry about until the blood results are through: she said under 3.5 is considered normal and I need to stay away from Google and wait for results. Easier said than done. I'll update once I have the full picture but she was reassuring.

Hiya, I posted something similar a few weeks back. I was too early 10+3 for a nt reading but it came up at 5.5! Obviously we were really upset. But fast forward three weeks to a repeat scan and I got a new measurement of 3.4 which I also thought was high but was told it was just below normal.
I had the bloodtest and imagined the worst im 34 which doesnt help. I had a phone call nearly two weeks ago saying I was high risk.
I came out with a combined result of 1 in 75, now that would panic alot of ladies but im quite happy. I was offered an amino but don't want to take the risk. Im now just happily waiting for my 20 week scan on the 8th of may. If anythings wrong I'll have a better idea then.
Im sure everything will be fine for you, dont panic a high nt result isnt the end of the world.
you can always opt for an amino if you want to know for certain :-) x

Thanks. I'm starting to hope that since the scan was early on Monday morning they'd have been in touch by now if they had found anything worrying in the bloods. It may not be true but it's helping me to feel a bit better so I'm continuing to hope!

They phoned me exactly a week later. A high risk result isnt the end of the world. Theres always more tests that can be done if your worried. I just didnt want to risk it.

Thanks all - I've made it through the week without any news so now I'm cautiously optimistic! I'll update once I have the results in the post but fingers crossed...

Letter arrived this morning putting us in the low risk category at 1:400. I can breathe for the first time in a week!
