Harmony tests - where are they? Any in the West Country?

Hi all,

Where are the test clinics outside of London? Going to be home over Xmas and was thinking of getting it done as I can't find much on getting it done where I am.

Preferably Westcountry although south coast or Surrey type areas wouldn't be so bad to get to.

There is definitely on in Bristol somewhere. I found it when we considered Harmony. Can't remember the details, but knowing Bristol might help you track it down?

Hi living they offer the Harmony test at Spire hospital in the Clifton/ the Downs area of Bristol, but the blood is sent to America and results take 2 weeks. Depends how many weeks you are whether scan can be done on the first visit (I think minimum 12 weeks) Presumably they could phone you with results. The other (much cheaper!) option offered there is the OSCAR screen which is what I had, offered between 11 and 14 weeks, which is a blood test processed there and then and a detailed scan with NT measurement, giving you an adjusted risk for Downs, Edwards, Pataus syndromes. It's not a diagnostic test though, which I think Harmony is. I would have considered Harmony instead of an invasive test if I'd come back as high risk on OSCAR.

That's great thanks ladies I will email them. I'm going to the prenatal unit tomorrow to talk about other heart abnormality scans to do with medication I am on (and they seemed more focused on then downs tbh) so after that I should have a good idea of whether I need the extra checks or not. Might be able to be booked in time for Xmas with these guys though. It's worth the cost I think!

Just in case someone is searching the threads....they do the harmony test through fetal medicine at treliske hospital truro, Cornwall. Though it's not advertised, it's was offered to me after a discussion about the other types of invasive tests. I don't know, u may have to be a local patient, but it wouldn't harm anyone if you rang them and asked, rather than a trip further afield

Harmony 550 or NIFTY 450 at Innermost Healthcare at Cardiff Gate Business Park.

I had mine done at Royal Surrey in Guildford with Dr Lesley Roberts who worked with Professor Nikolides, the guru.
I couldn't recommend her or the test enough and I will definitely do it again.

I am sure if you contact her office she may be able to recommend someone local to you.
