Had amnio yesterday-could babys measurements be an early indicator of Down's Syndrome?

Hi everyone- I'm 19 weeks+ 2days pregnant. I had an amnio yesterday, even though we were told our risk of a chromosome abnormality was relatively low (1 in 280). I'm 28 and was expecting it to be far lower than that to be honest. After much thought, myself and my husband decided to have the amnio anyway, as we felt we just NEED to know if anything's wrong.

The baby's measurements so far are:

BPD: 49mm = 20 weeks and 5 days
HC: 166mm = 19 weeks and 3 days
FL: 30 mm = 19 weeks and 2 days

We have our 20 week scan on Tuesday, which is when our amnio results will be in also. I just wondered if anyone measured about the same as me for 19ish weeks? I'm worried that the baby's femur is a little short....I know I'm probably just over-reacting but I love this little baby so much, as does my husband and now we've found out the sex (a boy!) I feel even more bonded....Just feel like I need to talk to some mummies!!!! xxxx

I just asked Dr google on your behalf.

I typed in 'femur length 19 weeks' and the second link down was an American website called www.babytosee.com (on tablet can't paste link sorry!

According to their chart 30mm at 19 weeks is bang on average. So assuming that's right the answer to your original question no.

Yes after obsessive googling research I've noticed that too! DH's legs are quite short anyway too...

Feel silly now... Blush
