Antenatal tests

Harmony test - is there a limit for when you can go?

I've just had my DS risk from my 12 week scan 2.5 weeks ago. The letter says that I am low risk but then gives a factor of 1 in 170.
This doesn't feel low to me and even though I'm 38 seems high for my age.
Does anyone know if you can still have the harmony test at 15 and a but weeks?
I def don't want to go down the cvs route as odds of miscarriage are same as my risk factor

Hi, I think you can still have harmony at this point - but why not call a clinic that does the test and ask them.
I had mine done at the birth co and I think they might have quite a bit

Sorry - posted too soon.
I think they have some info on their website about when you can have the test.

Hi I've just had harmony at 15+ weeks, so yes you can. In fact got a good result back today at 17 weeks so I'm pleased!! 1:170 at 38 is not bad at all tho, mine was 1:140 at 29 and having said that I know exactly how you feel seeing everyone's 1:164437, 1:300000 etc results and yours seeming higher in comparison. Good luck with whatever you decide...

Thanks guys. Called the FMC in London. They can do another scan and look for other indicators (although not repeat NF) and then do bloods. Going to go along for piece of mind although DH convinced I'm over reacting. Probably am but odds seem scarily high I me and I'm a control freak.

I paid £750 and today it was money very well spent. I can recommend the clinic in Birmingham. They were brilliant.

I had it done at 16 weeks, they said it actually works better the further along you are as there is more fetal DNA present in your blood. I had a detailed scan as well at the FMC in London which was well worth it. It was £600 in total but worth every penny to me. Got the results two weeks later when I was 18 weeks. Good luck
