Harmony Blood test cost and availability

I have just phoned the Fetal Medical Centre London to enquire about the Harmony blood test. She told me it costs £400, plus £180 for the Nuchal scan.
I've read in a few places that they were doing it free with the £180 nuchal csan. Has any one had this offer recently?

Also, she told me to call back when I am 8 weeks, to get booked in for 10 weeks. Sounds a bit tight but she said there would be no problem getting an appointment. How early have any of you booked your appointment before the 10 week min date, or has everyone just rung up after they reached 10 weeks and been seen immediately?

Thanks for feedback from anyone who has had/ is about to have the test.

Hi, don't know if this helps but I booked there for nuchal scan which was in Feb at 12+4. It was £180 as and worth every penny. They told me when I booked if I had been able to come a week earlier the harmony would have been free, but I was overseas. I suspect it may have been some kind of trial at that time.

You can decide on the day whether to have it done or not for the extra £400. I waited to see the nuchal measurement and blood results, as they came back favourable & the Dr saw no reason to advocate further testing, so I didn't bother.

The scan was detailed, great new equipment, well explained, recorded on disk to take away, very reassuring and indescribably better than the 10 min effort by a bored looking sonographer at my local hospital, which failed to produce any meaningful results.

Oh, and the tummy gel was warm!

I had mine in Cardiff and it was £700. It included a free CVS/amnio in cases of bad results. I was able to get an appointment within a couple of days.

I am 10 weeks today and am having my harmony testing done at foetal medical centre.

If you are 10 weeks, you only have to pay £180 for the dating scan at 10 weeks and the harmony blood test. You then go back 2 weeks later for the results and nuchal scan

I had mine done here about 3 weeks ago - it was £180 to go at 10-11 weeks for harmony then nuchal at 12 weeks. Hopefully they are still doing this offer?

Still £180 at 10 weeks, my appointment is booked for May 28th. £400 extra if you are 11+ weeks.

The offer runs out at end of August. I am 2 days outside deadline. Gutted. Instead of 180 quid, will now cost us 400(harmonytest)+180(nuchal scan)+100 pre-scan = 680! BIG difference. Get in now while you can!

At the Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester the cost is £695 for Harmony blood test & detailed scan, not inc. NT.

Wow stevie. I guess we are relatively lucky!

Either way it's insanely expensive!

The full price at FMC is £580, given to me over the telephone yesterday. It's only with this current package, available until the end of August that it is a good price. But it's hugely restrictive as you HAVE to go back there for the NT, otherwise you'll be charged the full price. So only relevant for people who live nearby.

In Belfast the two clinics doing the Harmony scan each charge £950, which is a bit of a shocker!

Wow! Sounds like they know they have the monopoly. Bet there is some price-fixing going on there..

I'd be tempted to take a cheap flight over to a cheaper clinic over the water - have a nice break and still have some change!
