Morning

Just found this thread after looking through google. Had my 12 week scan last week. Come back as high risk again. Our son was also high risk 1 in 5, 20% chance of downs. Had cvs and everything was okay.

This time. NF measurement was 2.2mm. 1 in 120. Less than 1% chance of downs. Now have amnio booked in for 2nd Jan. Really worried about the miscarriage risk as had a mc in July. Never want to go through that again.

Just been told about this harmony test. It seems from this thread there is nothing but poistive things being said. I am 13+6 Tuesday 18th Dec. Is it to late for me to get this done. Would they be able to see me this week if I called Monday.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Not too late for Harmony Blood Test. No upper limit on it.

Harmony and MaterniT21 are both non invasive maternal blood tests for Down Syndrome, Edward Syndrome and Patau Syndrome. Detection rate is 99pc for Down Syndrome. Now available in the UK in centres in London and Cardiff and soon lots more. Costs vary so check if the fee includes an early viability scan and any confirmatory CVS or Amnio if results are positive. Currently samples are sent to USA for analysis.

HI, im due to have the harmony test in London next Friday but was wondering if anyone knows of any other clinic in Uk doing the test other than this and Cardiff. Im living in Edinburgh so would be ideal to get somewhere closer. Also does anyone know how quickly they get back to you if the test hasnt worked for them to do it again... the reason I ask is that ill be 15 weeks when i have the test and if I have to wait the full two weeks to find it didnt work im in danger zone to have it done again if it comes back positive high risk and I have to opt for the amnio. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.x

Hi Mhairi71 I was a contributor to the previous thread on Harmony. I don't know how quickly they get back to you if they can't do the test, but it was something that was on my mind as I was about 14 weeks when I had my test done. I think you should give them a call to discuss this before you go, so that you can get some timelines and expectations. Try not to speak to the receptionist, ask to speak to the nurse that deals with the results, so you can explain your concerns fully. I had my test done about 12 weeks ago now, so am not sure if there are any other clinics that offer it, but it is extremely new in the UK, so I would very much doubt if there is anyone else offering it yet.
