High NT- There is hope!

A few weeks ago now, we went for our 12 week scan, and where shocked to find that our baby had a NT of 4.9mm And that the normal was anything under 2.5. The Lady doing our scan was hard up and didn't look like she cared.

We was given a 1:21 for Downs and a 1:31 for the other 2. After my Bloods came back the downs was 1:71 and the others were 1:435

I was booked in for a CVS (Chronic villus sampling) 4 days later. (Which i won't explain because it was not nice :( )

13!!!! days later we got our results back, and everything is Fine.

For all you new mums out there that are worried about high NT and are waiting for results, There is hope that the baby will be fine.

I had a 1:9 high NT and all was fine, at the same time my parents announced they were emigrating and my husband was being sued(wrongly). My ds2 is now 7 and perfectly healthy.

I had my dating scan on Monday and they picked up a high NT of 4.2mm. I have another scan booked in for tomorrow and possibly a CVS too depending on that outcome and I am very scared right now, so this is good to read. Thank you for sharing and for helping me realise it may not be the end of the world. x

Been lurking here for the past week since going for our dating scan and being told baby had a NT of 3.6 and a risk of 1:15 which completely scared us. After going for CVS we got the results back and all is fine so just wanted to say that even with numbers like that all can turn out well after all :)

Vickster, did they do the NT measurements at the dating scan? (apologies to OP for mini-hijack!). How far were you? I am having a dating scan at 11+1 and then NT measurements at 12+1 (I am certain of my dates, but am anxious about everything else so asked for a dating scan!)

Needed to read that right now, thanks xx

Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, it was done at my 12wk dating scan which was done quite late at 13plus5 so the measurement was only just valid as this can only be measured until 14wks very latest. I've read since that doing it closer to 14 wks makes quite a difference.
Hope all went well for you x

We had a 1 in 2 probability with 5mm nt.

My beautiful DD is currently sat asleep on my lap with no abnormalities (except her daddy's big head!). I remember after the sleepless nights how I felt getting told the cvs was clear and I am just so grateful.

That is great news Smile

My DD2 had a measurement of 3.4 at 9+2 and is now a beautiful healthy 6mt old Grin
