Hello. I'm a bit nervous about posting but here it goes. DD is 18wo tomorrow. We had a tough start due to her having a low birth weight (5lb 4oz). She was of course a needy baby (very hungry, likes to be held to sleep). I wasn't great to start with because I'm not good when sleep deprived but by 8 weeks we'd found a rhythm and she started to sleep well, especially overnight.
I didn't have an easy pregnancy due to an irritable uterus and with her being an intense newborn I decided to get a mirena coil fitted so I didn't have to think about contraception. However from about a week after having it fitted I've nose dived. I now feel very low, snappy, I've been bleeding for 5 weeks non-stop, I'm bloated and can't stop crying. I have a history of anxiety and depression and was closely monitored during pregnancy. However this feels different from before. When I was depressed I wanted to die. Now I just feel like I am suffocating and I want to run away or fade away.
My plan is to get a GP appointment and asked to have the mirena removed (I don't know if its responsible entirely or a contributing factor) and ask for a referral for counselling to deal with some of the things that are upsetting me. Any thoughts/experiences?
