I was advised not to have the swine flu vaccine with adjvent. My dh had the vaccine so if me or kids get it he can look after us. I had just the normal flu vaccine.

i have refused the vaccination as i am 39 weeks now and my doc certainly did not promote it! I have not looked too deeply into threads o here about it as most other threads seem to turn into aggressive bantering instead of chatting!!!! My dd has had 'mild' SF and I just think there are so so so many cases of mis diagnosis with it and kids been given tamiflu and it making them 10 times worse so i am reluctant with it all. Hopefully I have made the right decision for me.Having lots of pelvic pain but not contractions just baby is engaged and still wriggling and it hurts!!!!!!
DS isn't starting pre-school till late April. I'm hoping it's all blown over by then...

i agree the swine flu threads on mn seem to get swamped and dare i say it confusing blush

people are accused of scaremongering when in fact we just want to have a rational convo

scorps my worry is like you not so much dd2 but dd1 is at preschool and they gave had cases of swine flu now in fact my friend whos dd is friends with mine has them family ill with it now

what was it you were saying earlier about the anti d being sim ie mercury??
I decided to have it as much for me as protecting bump as DS nearly died from meningitis and pneumonia at 3 months so decided to gat it done to protect t as much as me.

CXs every 10 mins. grin
The risk of me/a member of my family catching SF is quite high - 3 dc who all attend school & nursery. Quarantine isnt really possible for us; if this was my first or even second baby with a toddler first dc iyswim then I probably wouldn't.

GS I see your concern. I am lucky enough to have literally no other concerns other than the fact I'm pregnant. Alot of the same things in this vaccine are present in others too that appear to have less fuss, but I have more Reading to do on this

it's nice to chat with other pg mums about this nicely!

its hard as i see both sides of the do and don't but i keep coming back to the untested hmm
Scorps - I meant that there is the risk of actually catching SF as opposed to another flu/cold virus. Then there is the risk if you do get SF (which you won't even know for definite) of being seriously ill with it. To me the risks of a vaccination which hasn't been properly tested are greater than the combination of those risks. Hope that makes sense, I'm finding it difficult to put into words. I did read something very interesting but unfortunately it was hard copy & belonged to someone else so I can't link it. Having said that I think it's possible to read something that argues for all the alternatives which is what makes it so hard when all we want is to protect our unborn babies.
If DS was at school then I might think differently Scorps. But he's not so I can pretty much quarantine us if I need to.

I was worried about the adjuvent as well as the lack of testing. I saw a report on the BBC news website that linked Pre-eclampsia with an overactive immune system and as adjuvents boost immune response and I had PE when I was expecting DS, the last thing I want to do is risk getting it again by boosting my immune system right now.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
