DH drives me mad before EVERY holiday we go on. He is either totally self-centred (refuses to pack until the 11th hour) or finds totally random things to do that somehow have become really urgent.
Examples before this year's holiday include:
- Deciding to take new car on (self-drive) holiday despite not having got the registration documents sorted in time, and having to source a spare wheel (involving a 150 mile round trip) 2 days before holiday begins, despite the fact that we have another car which would be more than adequate.
- Deciding to mend the garden gate (for security reasons!) the night before the holiday, and then actually ending up building a new gate from scratch at 8 o clock at night! (The gate had been broken for 6+ months, and he had still not started any packing).
- Suggesting that it only takes an hour or two to pack for a 2 week self-catering holiday, for a family of four, and generally taking no responsibility for packing anything whatsoever.
