I have not seen anyone enough people spell it that way to be able to work up a decent amount of outrage about it.

Of course you never have a word that gets you every time do you OP?

I'm one of the ones that always spells apalled wrong.

YANBU - my heart sinks a little when I see my fellow teachers who cannot spell in reports. Sigh. A dying art.

Yes pranma I was being ironic. It obviously didn't go down very well

There's a pedants board - please make use of it and stop being nasty to people on a general board - there is no need for it. Do you really think people should only post if their spelling is perfect? How sad it will be if people like you put people off of posting!

YABU and so unnecessarily bitchy.

I am a secret spelling and grammar pedant, but wouldn't dream of pulling someone up about it (unless they are being unpleasant and pompous).

You are just plain rude.

I blame that advert about 'doing a poo at Paul's'. It was so appalling that the two have become inextricably linked.
