I know, TMI . But am I the only one who does this?

Only in private, you understand - not as I'm sitting at my desk at work or anything.

I don't know whether it's the pollen or etc, but honestly, just politely blowing it in a handkerchief sometimes will not shift those blighters. The only possible course of action is a good, satisfying pick.

Fess up... do you do it too?

Frequently

I'm sure most people feel the need sometimes just that they do it privately.

As long as you don't eat it I can't see a problem with it... oh and don't flick it on the floor where I might stand on it in my bare feet, yuk.

Yep often find it very satisfying just like squeezing a blackhead .

Y'know, I was just thinking about bogies this morning (like you do...) but I reckon that since I became pregnant I have LOADS more than usual. Its very odd.
I may do some research into this obscure undisclosed symptom of pregnancy!

Oh, and for the record, I tend to BLOW them out rather than pick them out. I am sure someone told me you could stretch your nostrils if you picked your nose & mine are big enough already!

Lizzombie.......pregnancy rhinitus........known phenomenon and bloody irritating. Apparently it usually clears up after 1st trimester but I had it all the way through..........constant snottiness and blocked nose.

I used to work with a woman who would sit and pick her nose constantly, in front of everyone. One man said to her "Stop picking your nose" and she replied "It's MY nose and I'll pick it if I want to".

Lizzzombie, you can BLOW them out? That is damned impressive. Is that what people are doing when they have a good blow and then carefully inspect their tissues? Or do you not use a tissue and shoot them across the room into a waiting receptacle?

I feel totally inadequate. Couldn't blow out a birthday cake candle with my little snorts, let alone shoot out a row of bogies. Would yoga help, do you suppose?

I find it most satisfying after a day on the beach.

Report
Lizzzombie · 20/06/2010 10:53

I live on a pebbley beach, so it makes no difference!

Mine are HUGEMONGEOUS at the moment so its easy to dislodge them with a big blow. !

I love picking my nose

Urgh! I don't even want to think about it! Any other product of the body is fine, poo, blood, vomit I can deal with no problem but bogeys make me retch!

There are nose-picking rules in my house!..no eating, use a tissue, dont do it in mid-convo, dont pick it,lick it, roll it, flick it and no wiping on the furniture or surfaces!...do you think they follow them though?...yeah right!

Btw this thread is making me want to pick my nose now!

Don't pick it, lick it,
Roll it, flick it.

Like that. Think I'll embroider it on a sampler.

Ha, ha, yeah, the wiping off on furniture!

Well, I saw something yesterday that I have never seen before in all my born days. A nanny spent a good 5 minutes rooting up her little charge's nose in our Reception area, using her bare hand. In the end, I could bear it no longer and rushed over with a box of tissues and sanitizer for her hand.
