Friend is upstairs playing with DD1. DD2 (6 months) is sleeping. I've told them to be quiet umpteen times, but they're STILL making a racket - do I go and send her home??

No, just get them to play downstairs. I have a DD that is 11 and a 9 month old DS so I know your pain but sending their friend home is a bit harsh.

Anyway - DD2 was sleeping downstairs, with DD1 and friend playing upstairs in DD1s room (they are both 6). DD1 then came downstairs and woke her sister deliberately - so friend got sent home.

and [hmmm] at quietly cooking cookies or cakes??? Think I'm just pi88ed of because friend has been at ours every night this week and every night they have trashed DDs room. Was going to send them down to friend's house last night but "Mum's leaving brother to football and I don't know when she'll be back..."

All's quiet now - both DDs in bed sleeping and beer is opened

I misread your OP, for your DD of 6 months - I read it as your DD upstairs being 6 YO.
