AIBU?

School dinners (no hair involved)

At my DCs school they are given a termly rotating menu, so we know what the dinners are going to be every day.

My children are not that fussy but there are some things they dislike going to school dinners for, strangly it is often things they eat at home. Either because the portions are too small and they are left feeling hungry (none are overweight btw) or because 'it tastes strange) so on those days they go packed lunches.

The thing is they change them all the time, no warning, sometimes they let the children know other times nada!

AIBU to be pissed off by this?

are you sure?

So they don't stick to the termly menu?

Maybe just have a word, explain you need to know in advance and why.

Or switch them to packed lunches permanently?

I don't want to do that i hate making packed lunches.

I have and they try to say they don't change the menu. The thing is when there are several children (other than mine)all saying the same thing i tend to believe the kids!

YANBU. Ours does this and is the main reason dd1 does not have any school meals as she is quite fussy and whilst she could eat about three days a week of the proposed termly menu plan meals, she has had too many days of not having anything (and yes, I mean eaten nothing!) for us to risk it due to them changing the meal from that listed. Think it is quite common.
