I bit back the giggles - I wonder if she had a car seat for it? I declined to ask its name as well!

Did it have a name? Could the woman tell whether the doll had enjoyed the massage?

Nobody else batted an eyelid! It was my first time going and I really enjoyed it, found nothing strange about the woman at all until that bit

Maybe the doll belongs to one of her children.

I have never done baby massage classes, so I wouldn't know

Oh I hate to see naked dolls, it makes me feel cold and sad for them.

But then it took me two years to stop placing DS's dolls in the feet to foot position in the cot

I used to dress the toddler's dolls too. And it used to make me sad to see their hair coloured it/with chunks cut out of it etc .

our dolls at baby massage are all called Lara for some reason (there's 4 of them)

I agree I would have had to dress the doll too, I can't bear to see a naked one although the first thing my youngest does when she gets a new one is strip it.

I have a theory. I reckon that when training baby massage teachers are told to treat the baby like a real one as much as possible to add realism to their demonstration. NCT antenatal teachers often advised to do the same i.e don't swing it round my the legs etc.

I'm a bit late here but in baby massage teachers defence (I am one and am quite normal) we ARE trained to treat it like a real baby, dress and undress it, name it and carry it properly i.e. not by the head! We were told we would fail our assessments if we didn't!

I loathe seeing undressed dolls. All of dd's dolls have to be naked and it drives me nuts, they must be cold! I am madly dressing them at night when she asleep

the doll at our baby massage was called india and she was always dressed after the session.

the lady who ran the classes was very alarmed one day when she accidentally dropped her.

the midwife who ran our antenatal class was swinging her (naked) dolly by the ankle, then flung it up into a cupboard with all its sad naked friends YABU. poor little naked dollies!

My childhood dollies live upstairs in the attic roofspace in the dolly bunk-bed that my (long deceased) Dad made for me when I was 4.

I made sure when we put them away that they were all properly dressed and tucked up under their motheaten vintage hand-knitted blankets, lovingly crafted by my (even longer-deceased) Gran.

I was 49 last week .

In my defence, Ladies (and Gents) of the Jury, I only have a DS. Those poor dollies were never played with after I was 14 old enough to listen to Led Zep 4.

So nerr. Look after your babies, whoever they may be!
