6 weeks ago, I had a miscarriage. I went for a scan and the bag was empty. It has been a big shock for all of us and I am trying to stay positive and would like to try for a baby again very soon.
Yesterday, I had a chat with DH and he said half jokingly that maybe we ought not to try again as "the rest of my eggs might be squashed!"
I feel really angry at this (after all, the empty egg could have been because of his sperm!!) and also very sad as the emptiness created by the miscarriage is still here.
just needed to vent it out and get a bit of online cheer, I guess. Thanks for reading (now back to DD and DS!)

oh dear

sounds like he chose the wrong subject to make light of, but maybe it was his own way of dealing with the loss and his grief?

it might simply be his clumsy blokey way of dealing with it, he might be scared to try again

so YANBU. but he might be reeling a bit

Men are crap sometimes aren't they? I'm not surprised you're upset and yanbu. He probably thinks nothing of it but I think you could explain to him how upset you were at what he said. Let him make amends.

Do tyou think its because he can't face the emotions that are going on for him at the moment . My dh had difficulty after our first mc and was very frightened of the same thing happenning again.
You are not being unreasonable however, very insensitive of him, but maybe he is hurting too.

I would have been veryupset and angry at that comment.

I do accept that some men find they deal with big emotions with attempts at humour but it was still unfair.

I'll leave the door open for him to bring an enormous bunch of flowers tonight (yeah, right! it's good to be dreaming!). Thanks for your comments. I'll go and eat yet another chocolate digestive (I look like I am still pregnant with all the emotional eating!)
