Today is a case in point:

On the homepage it gives the symbol "light showers" for our area. So I click on the 24 hour forecast and all the symbols are for sunshine/sunshine and clouds. And this happens all the time!

I totally agree. I never rely on the website, but I do like their full weather on tv as it gives so much more detail about what TIME of day it will be wet/dry. When I look at my local forecast on the website, it tells you only one symbol. Well, the weather is so changable, that really doesn't tell me if it will rain int he morning, afternoon, etc.

It's always wrong. Their world weather is pants, too. The 5 day forecast for Orlando, Florida when we were there in March was 'storm clouds and heavy rain' and around 70 degrees. It was bright sunshine the whole time 7 80-90 degrees.

Totally agree. I always use weather.co.uk, much more reliable.

The BBC online weather is a complete work of fiction. It's baffling, because the TV weather is usually pretty good, and you'd think they'd be using the same source of information. And I always thought that source was the Met Office, but when you look at their site it often bears no relation to the BBC site. I reckon they have "wind", "showers", "light sleet" etc. on bits of paper and just pick 2 or 3 a day out of a hat.

Try metcheck.com it is normally very good, and can give out long range forcasts, that do seem to come true as well.

yes, I've noticed the bbc one being wrong on a regular basis or at best vague and hedging their bets for the day.

The Met Office one is the opposite, gives you times of day when it will rain in your area and they are often bang on. It's metoffice.gov.uk.

I agree, I've found it to be very frequently wrong.

Another recommendation for Metcheck.com

The bbc one is a running joke in our office, as it without fail contradicts what's going on outside the window. I use metoffice.gov.uk, but it's not perfect.

It depends when you look at it - they change their minds so often aboout the 5 day forecast it's bound to be right at some point....

I find Accuweather.co.uk to be pretty accurate
