To not know what to do with polenta

I have a pack of ready made polenta (ie it's already in a block) which I must have bought ages ago as just noticed it was Bbe yesterday. Can anyone suggest anything tasty to do with it that will accompany my pork casserole for this evenings meal, and also will not offend DH who does not like "foreign muck"....

fry it up or cut it up and bake it. It really doesn't taste of much, tbh, I use it more to bulk out a meal. Same with ugali.

yes, it goes with anything really. I haven't found anything it doesn't work with - on account of it not tasting of anything at all

But you do have to cook it properly and eat it right away.

Sprinkle of paprika and a drizzle of oil is nice. Or jiggle it in a roasting pan with some grated parmesan. Whack it in a hot oven till it starts to go a bit browned and crispy.

Where the heck did you manage to find block polenta?! Every supermarket I shop in seems to have stopped doing it. It's ruled out my go-to lazy tea of skin-on chicken breast, chopped up polenta and cherry tomatoes all whacked it the oven and ignored for half an hour. Best dinner ever. Harrumph!

You can use it as. Base for a quiche? Tbh it is quite grim unless you use a lot of other flavours with it.

Good with chicken cacciatore. (Call it chicken casserole so it's not 'foreign'.) No blander than a boiled spud.

Found it lurking under some beautiful lamb in France lastweek; I dug in with relish thinking it was mashed potato ... :(

I bought some polenta a while ago and faced the same issue. I found a simple recipe: Cut it into slices and saute to slightly brown it on each side, serve a slice, or two or three on a plate and spoon homemade bolognese sauce over it, top with some shredded parmesan.

That said, I still found it to be somewhat uninspiring tbh. Decided polenta is overhyped.
