Was at a cafe today and a lady pulls out a potty and allows her son shit. Just there openly not trying to hide it. The cafe was packed full of people eating too Confused

Her friend then pulled out potty
and was going to get her
daughter on but we complaied before it happened.

The toilets were out of order however there were loos about 10 second walk outside

They both thought we were UR for suggesting they use the other toilets and we don't know how hard it is potty training twins ( we have twins in our immediate family).

One of them started crying and the shouted at us then left.

AIBU to think this disgusting and not something people want to see when trying to eat our lunch?!

What has potty training twins got to do with it ? There were 2 parents there so one per child Confused Not that it would be ok to do if there wasn't Grin
How very odd.

I love it when people "calmly suggest something" and then the other person just flies off the handle for no reason. I have a sneaking suspicion you didn't "suggest" if it escalated to tears and shouting.

Regardless. You don't poop in front of people that are eating. That's gross.

I shit you not! Grin I promise you all this happened. I'm not poo troll. We couldn't stop talking about it after as we too couldn't believe they thought it acceptable!

Omg even if the toilet was out of order surely they could have used the potty in there. I would have even took the kids outside and used potty before doing in a cafe like that (I have 3 under 5 btw)

Hand on heart, it was a calm suggestion. The way try reacted was like they've had stick about doing it before.

People are sometimes odd in how they don't see problems when the child belongs to them. We were at a friends house eating lunch when someone suggested changing a baby's pooey nappy on the floor right next to the table and was a bit Hmm when others of us objected. It's easy to not see the disgusting in your own child

I passed a bloke parking his ds on a potty on the pavement next to their vehicle the other day. Vehicle was a motorhome.

Thought that was slightly unnecessary but it didn't inconvenience anyone, so each to their own...potty in middle of cafe is entirely different & entirely gross. YANBU.

YANBU. Where did the woman empty the potty afterwards?

I've managed to successfully potty train three DCs without needing to whip out a potty in a café or a shop or any other public place for that matter.

If there were two adults present (one to stay at the table with the things & one to take the DCs to the loo) and toilets as close as you say, I can't see any possible excuse for this really.

Some people are just odd.
