so I ordered a new coat offline and I wasnt in for the delivery man this morning (id been to the shop at the bottom of the street and missed him, typical)

when I got in the card through the door said 'in bin'..
so I looked in my rubbish filled bin and the parcel was under a few rubbish bags!

im sure there not allowed to do that? plus today is bin day thank god the bin men didn't come until later!

That's where they put them here too.
It's hidden and dry you see.

My parents have had this. Thankfully in the recycling bin so it wasn't smelly. But, as you say, what if it was bin day. Bonkers.

I quite often find deliveries amongst my recycling bags and boxes, which I don't mind too much, but actually in the bin is a bit too far!

I had Yodel put a parcel in the bin once, on top of rancid chickeny rubbish. It was a printer in its own box, no other wrappings, & was soiled with bin juice.

I rang to complain & the woman on the phone clearly didn't believe me our drivers are not allowed to put things in dustbins Hmm

Happened to me too recently. A £95 handbag left in the wheelie bin!!

I had also paid extra for tracked delivery so doubly annoyed about it. DP foubd the parcel a few days later when taking rubbish out as they hadn't left a note Angry .

We have this regularly - at our old house they left a 2.5 k laptop which had been ordered to come into store! (PC World)- last month we had an Amazon parcel put into the brown bin - ie food and garden waste (yuck) - no card left either so thankfully DH noticed before he chucked the food waste kitchen bin in on top.

This happened to me. A box of posh chocs from DM left in the feckin recycling bin. I went mad at the postman, complained to the post office too. I was livid - what if it was bin day ffs

Yes they do this to me a lot. One day I didn't have a card and found it a day or two later when I was putting clipping in.

Or they just hurl them over the back wall into the garden.

Yes me too. Or they throw (expensive crockery) over the back gate.

I had new cups delivered today. She handed the box over to Dh and drove off sharpish.

DH started carrying the box in and straight away could hear the rattling by broken bits moving around.

4 out of the 8 cups were absolutely smashed to bits. The only way they could be that smashed is if the box had been dropped.

I refuse to believe the driver had not noticed the rattling that was coming from that box, that made it obvious without opening it that it was full of smashed items.

I had to rush to hospital and forgot to lock the door when I got back the parcel had been placed inside my hallway.

I have had parcels placed in the bin before. Drives me mad.

I have also had them tossed over the side gate into the back garden.

I have also had parcels delivered to a neighbour in my absence but no card left to say they were there, so I haven't known until said neighbour has appeared with it.

I missed a delivery from Next once that had apparently been left round the dude of the house. Phoned up, they sent me a letter saying "on this occasion we will credit your account however we will carefully monitor deliveries in your area in future" basically saying they thought I was trying it on and wouldn't get away with it again!

Anyway, out of desperation, I ordered something else and the driver dropped it off again but for some reason had wrapped it in a bin liner. It dawned on me that was what he must have done the previous time and I'd binned it assuming it was a misplaced bag of rubbish.

Yodel once left a note saying they'd put it by our back gate. Actually they'd thrown it over the wrong fence into the neighbours' garden.

I must be strange then - I like it when they leave parcels in my bin, it's much easier than having to go to the depot to collect it. They only ever leave them in the recycling bin, never the general waste one which would be yuck. And doesn't everyone else actually have to put their bin out on the edge of the driveway or on the pavement on bin day? I'd hope the delivery drivers would have the common sense not to leave something when the bin is obviously out for collection.

It's always worked for me anyway.
