To eat one day out of date chicken breast?

If it looks and smells fine, it probably is fine. Just make sure you cook it thoroughly.

I reckon Supermarkets cover their backsides by using a date one off. One day no probs! I grew up before eat by dates and we had no frig( no electric) still alive!

Chicken you can rely on as the second it goes off, you will know about it.

I don't know why so many people post this question. Use your eyes and your nose, nobody here can tell you if the food in front of you is safe to eat.
And forget about use by dates, use your sense instead.

Not so much common sense, but the recession has hit a lot of people hard and still is.

Cooking from scratch is happening now more than it has for a long time and some are more reluctant to throw food away than before.

There is a need to re-educate people on what can and can't be eaten past the dates printed on the packaging. Hence threads like these.
