AIBU?

To not be watching the commonwealth games?

I hate sport. Never watch anything including Wimbledon or the world cup. I didn't watch the London Olympics apart from a 5 minute roundup.

Watched some of the opening ceremonies but got bored.

Why do i feel as though I should be supporting the Games? I feel so guilty but I'm just not interested. Am I alone or being totally U and everybody else is glued?

Just watched some swimming and some women swam a couple of lengths.

I'm not watching it. I'm not interested. The World Cup once every 4 years is enough for me. I saw a little of the main Olympics, none of the winter Olympics and none of Wimbledon.

Thank god. I am not being unreasonable! DH thinks I'm being anti Scottish and making me feel guilty as he has Scottish parents!

If you hate sport, why would you watch sport?
Nothing to see here.

I'm Scottish and I'm not watching it either! It's boring, and I'd rather watch NCIS and drool over Mark Harmon

no, i don't watch crap like that either. i live in glasgow and keep getting asked if i'm 'enjoying' the games and so on, like just because it has 40,000+ volunteers i too should be all gung ho about it Hmm

i find it disgusting that millions of pounds can be found to host events like this but not when it comes to housing the homeless in our communities, feeding the hungry in our communities, creating allotments in our communities so we can grow our own food etc.

It's supposed to be a big thing, but you're right I don't get sport.

Ooh that Rebecca Addlington has just been on. She is stunning looking, why on earth did she think she wasn't?

If Scottish mnetters are like me and not bovvered then I feel less guilty.

DH can watch it if he likes.

I do like the way the para sport is all mixed in though. Much more inclusive.

bores me too, don't see the joy in watching sport, doing it yes but watching it seems pointless

Fed up with Auntie Beeb handing two channels over to the CG for eleven days. Just overdone.

I love watching sport but I'm all done with it for now, this year seems to have been nothing but sport..
Waiting for Doctor Who next month now Smile

I enjoyed the World Cup but athletics doesn't really do anything for me. Nice to have a buzzy cosmopolitan vibe in Glasgow though.

Doctor who. Love it love it love it!. I have saved the very last episode of the last series to watch but cant bring myself to do it as then I would have no more to watch! Shock. But now there is a new series I can fetch some gin and chocolate and indulge in the last episode!

Oh yes, sport. Wasn't there, a few weeks ago, football on one channel, golf on another, Wimbledon on one and more football on another other channel.

Seriously thought about emigrating to Iceland.

Squoosh. You are enjoying the sudden influx of sports tourists? Overcrowded roads, transport, hotels all full, nowhere to eat? Sounds like the seaside with grockle everywhere Grin

Grockles aka tourists

Yep I am!

Even my local supermarket is full of tanned chic people from foreign lands. Makes a change from the usual sights I see in Morrisons. Not bothered about the roads or hotels as that doesn't effect me.

No, I'm not watching either. Sport bores me to tears, although I did end up glued to the 2012 Olympics

I was ready to string DH up with the endless bloody football during the World Cup, then Wimbledon. We even had bloody golf the other day. I've cancelled the Sky Sports subscription

I suppose it makes a change and if they are cheery chic tanned tourists spending their money on the local economy it can't be all bad!

Never ever had a sports subscription. My idea of hell. Grin

Probably why I am crap at pub quizzes.....who won Wimbledon ...duh....golf...duh...the World Cup....was it Brazil???

I bet you are the sort of unreasonable person who doesn't eat food they don't like, or listen to music they don't like. Shameful, I say! WinkGrin

You mean like Edinburgh has every August during the festivals (sorry, it was too much of an open goal to resist)

Squoosh, I'm loving it too. Even though I get stopped to give directions / take photos every 10 yards.

I'm not usually interested in sport

But for the last two days I have been,

I'm caught up in the Glasgow2014 vibe. If youre not, I'm sure no-one minds. There are plenty who are.

I'm loving it all

Exactly like that!

I love Edinburgh during the festival although I'm sure lots of indigenous Edinburgh-donians are a tad less enthusiastic.
