AIBU?

to accidentally fall asleep and not go back?

In the midst of a massive family wedding.

I've 'popped' home (40 minute drive either way) to feed the dogs.

I'm an antisocial bugger and I'm feeling weary.

If I go back I can get sloshed on free wine.

What should I do?

I'd probably feel the same... but unless you're 100% sure you won't be missed you should probably go back. I bet you'll enjoy it when you get there.

Taxi back is booked. I've left the H and Ds there..

It's lovely and quiet here. Just me and the dogs......

I could take off my rubber pants and put my pyjamas on.

I have promised to take something back for D2 though. And the present I forgot earlier.

Damn.

You have got to be kidding, right?
How incredibly rude.
You leave wedding. Saying you're nipping home to feed dogs.
And you don't go back?
I would find this truely insulting.

You have my sympathy. Stay home if you can get away with it, you went to the first bit, just text your dh to let him know!

It is a bit rude to not go back.

Weddings are grim. No-one will notice. Enjoy the peace.

Of course it's rude.

But it's what I quite fancy doing.

If I have a hangover tomorrow it'll be all your fault.

Weddings are grim? Then why go? I love weddings.

Oblomov - not my dilemma. Weddings (IMHE) ARE grim. I avoid whenever possible.

A couple of friends did this at our wedding, but I don't hold it against them because I'm with Silver and think weddings are grim affairs Grin

What's the shape of a wedding disco these days? Are they still cheesy? (to appeal to everyone)

Good luck op. In fairness, at my wedding, the only person I would have noticed didn't come back was my husband, you could always pretend you went back. 99.9 percent chance of getting away with it Wink

I have actually honestly fallen asleep in between the bits of one wedding I was invited to, to be awoken by a phone call from the bride asking where I was. Fortunately my makeup hadn't smudged much and it was only a 25min drive so I made it back in time to be forgiven.
