So far this eve aside from 'I'm too hot/cold/thirsty/want another cuddle/need a wee' we have had the creative 'There's a Frog Monster Behind the Door', the surreal 'Aliens have stolen my Treasure', the plaintive 'my heart is BROKEN' and the uber-indignant 'But I have ONE wet sock..'

I am torn between being quite impressed at how inventive he can be and ready to throttle him just so I can eat some pizza! What are the best ones yours come out with?

Not quite the same thing, but 22mo DS woke me at 3am to tell me he was tired... grin

'My eyes aren't asleep'

'The bed is too big'

'My legs need to walk'

'My pjs are touching me'

'Me asleep now mum, you can go, me wont play with toys, me asleep' followed my fake snoring

FayKnights Thu 21-Nov-13 20:57:40

grin at 'my heart is BROKEN'

it's raining in my bedroom!

It wasn't, she was dreaming. She wouldn't go to sleep until we checked every room in the house for indoor precipitation.

(we had had a leak in the study roof, but that had been fixed several weeks before).

My two and a half year old goes into a big speech "love you more than, music, rainbows, sweets, nanny plum, pictures, colouring, kites…" I try to speed things up and I get "wait there's more! " agh!!
I love hearing what new things she can come up with though!

ocelot41 Thu 21-Nov-13 20:59:49

Snort... I have also had 'But my animals (toys) can't TALK'...I have tried pretending that they do, but very very quietly, so he has to lie still and listen, but he isn't taken in. Bah.....

mariomadmum Thu 21-Nov-13 21:01:52

best one I think is.. but I can't see when my eyes are closed!

SteamWisher Thu 21-Nov-13 21:03:39

"I'm too wakey! I've tried really hard and I can't sleep"

This is one minute after lights out.

SweetSeraphim Thu 21-Nov-13 21:05:55

This is lovely grin As much as I love mine being older now, I do miss these things.

ocelot41 Thu 21-Nov-13 21:06:55

Now we are onto 'But I want to play HORSEY! Daddy, its horsey time!!!' For the love of God child, sleeeeeeeeeeep......

Nombrechanger Thu 21-Nov-13 21:07:20

"I had a nightmare" (30 seconds after I switch the lights off)

I saw DD run across the landing with an extra pyjama top on and an extra pair of pyjama bottoms on her head. She said "I'm being a witch". I found it very hard to keep a straight face while telling her to get back into bed.

ocelot41 Thu 21-Nov-13 21:08:22

grin at 'But it is raining in my bedroom' and 'My pjs are touching me' ...

Yesterday my DS (4) got up about an hour after we had put him to be to ask why there was a toilet under the stairs. He has never before shown any interest in the topic.

AlwaysSnoozing Thu 21-Nov-13 21:09:04

'I need to SAVE YOU FROM THE CHOCOLATES!'

'My ears need to be cuddled.'

'I'm too waked up. I get all wiggly and jiggly all over. So I can't lie down.'

DaddyPigsMistress Thu 21-Nov-13 21:09:32

When ds1 was four he would come in and look at me with really sad eyes and say
'you have daddy so you dont get lonely. I am ever so lonely'

The toddler will come in and say.' Ive wee'd my bed' as i jump up to sort it he jumps in my place. I go through and his bed is dry and he is snuggled up to dp looking smug.

ocelot41 Thu 21-Nov-13 21:10:55

There's clearly enough material in here for a new Dr Who series Always and toilets under the stairs Organised? I think we need to be told...

Reason's for NOT staying in bed? confused

My DD is queen of reasons for STAYING in bed. She loves her bed with a passion.

She is 15 though. grin

ocelot41 Thu 21-Nov-13 21:11:39

Daddy I am shock. That is first class manipulation!

AuditAngel Thu 21-Nov-13 21:11:51

I don't like my bed
I don't like my bedroom

MrsAbernethy Thu 21-Nov-13 21:12:38

"I saw something red" (she has on red socks and was looking at her feet)
"I need a basin"
"I told my teacher I wasn't getting much sleep" - no shit, Sherlock...you've been in bed since half seven and coming downstairs with a new excuse every fifteen minutes. angry

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks Thu 21-Nov-13 21:13:09

"But I really need to eat coco pops now so that Daddy doesn't eat them all!" - DD then aged 3(quite a few years and excuses ago), she woke us with that at 4am hmm .

With DS it is often just "I forgot to kiss you goodnight on that cheek / forehead/ arm..." yes we like getting lots of kisses DS, but we also like you to have a good nights sleep so you aren't grumpy in the morning!

DeWe Thu 21-Nov-13 21:14:22

"I needed to know which shirt daddy was wearing tonight"

Um... the same one he's been wearing since he got home 2 hours ago. confused

nicename Thu 21-Nov-13 21:14:47

I usually get 'I'm awaaaaake' 'I can't sleeeeep...do something!' or something about aliens coming to steal his toys. Have also had grumbles about me getting to share with daddy and that not being fair.
