AIBU?

To ask if anyone can help me find 'Brown Ted'?

Bit of a specific request, I know. A couple of years ago we lost DS1's special teddy. I trawled through everywhere, rang company and they had discontinued it. Cant find it on Ebay or anywhere.

If any one has one, he would love it. He never quite got over it. If he could 'come home' for Christmas, that would be amazing!

'Brown Ted' is brown, obviously, Has 'cuddles' sewn into his foot. A checked bow. Bought him from boots when he was a newborn.

Am willing to travel far & pay what is needed, obviously.

It won't be the same you know.

Do you have a picture of his original teddy? I'd buy him a new one and wrap him up with a letter from the old teddy and picture to make it look more realistic. The letter should say that while he can't come home because he is busy having adventures he has asked his friend who wanted a little boy to play with to come and look after your DS.

the listing says make an offer so that's what I would do! You never know they might have relisted it and now just want rid. I would offer £5 or something and let them negotiate you up.. If you were prepared to travel then it would have cost you more in petrol

BloominNora Thats a lovely idea! DS1 has just turned 11yrs though, will know may suspect the letter is from me Grin

We have recently moved back to the exact house we lost it from, years ago! So am going to say that the person who had him, noticed us back and returned him. Or something along those lines!

Good grief - I only looked away for a second and somehow 20 minutes snuck past before I posted! I hope your son has a very happy Christmas with his friend back...

My little brother took him out on a supermarket trip and lost him. I was absolutely bereft. A couple of years later my dad got a job at a post office on the same street, and found my missing bear behind the counter. He'd been "adopted by the counter staff as a mascot" for all those years, and it was a huge and happy coincidence. And I believed that for 26 years at least, despite the fact that Albert came back without the stitches up his middle where I'd given him surgery (!) and despite knowing that my dad spent his lunchtimes in the local charity shops! It actually only dawned on me a few days ago what my dad must have done.

It doesn't matter though, strangely. I still love that bear. And this one has been with me much longer now.
