At Domino's yesterday.

Three medium pizzas, £46 they wanted! Shock That's with us picking up - not delivered.

DH ordered them over the phone, got off the phone, looked at me strangely, rang them back, queried the price, and cancelled the order.

3 bits of flat dough, a smear of tomato paste and a few bits of veg served in cardboard boxes. Delicious - but ... sorry i'm going to say it again ... £46???

I never order unless there is a voucher. Go to ' my voucher codes.com' there's usually a 50% one for either dominoes or pizza hut. I have one for pizza hut if you want me to pm you it!

That's an absolute disgrace are they gold plated ffs??

I hate Domino's and tend to get a nice pizza made at asda or from my local independent takeaway, much cheaper and not as full of crap like Domino's!

You needed a discount code!

I'm with you OP. I seriously don't know how they can justify the price of their pizzas. Nor can I get my head around how anyone can afford to buy them when it isn't Two for Tuesday!

If you did that every week you could have £2,500 saved up for a 2 week holiday to Italy covering all the pizza you can eat.

suziesmummy - :) How sweet of you Flowers

Yes, i think in the past they've done some jigery-pokery at the till point, and given us a discount. That's usually been mentioned at the order though. The girl on the phone to DH asked if had a coupon actually, when he rang back. DH said no, can you give us one? She said no ... that's the final price.

I know they're crappy, and yeah, home made or fresh supermarket ones are better, but i love the greasy nastiness of take away once in a while we were tired and lazy and had a fancy for it.

I just really hope most folk don't roll over and pay that much.

I think i even said the words ''what is the world coming to!'' last night Grin

Asda 14" pizzas are pretty good (esp chilli chicken chorizo) and cost £3.50.

We ordered pizzas from Papa John's last NYE as a treat: rubbish and expensive too. Supermarket all the way for us.

do people really order dominos without a discount code :O

fluffyraggies · 11/11/2013 10:24

We only order pizza once in a blue moon. Just never got very involved in their discounts and codes and 'before' and 'after' prices.

As i say until last night they've always offered a discount at the point of ordering. Either at the till or on the phone.

Why don't they just make their pizzas cheaper instead of making us all fart about with codes, or discounts at the till point?

Anyway - i'm glad i'm not alone in thinking this was overpriced. I thought i'd gone mad there for a minute last night Grin And thank you for the tips on discount codes.

I ordered 2 large stuffed crust pizzas and potato wedges a few weeks back on a Tuesday. After ordering I realised they hadn't applied the 2 for Tuesday discount. I'm still trying to get my money back for it. Angry £50 I payed for bloody shit pizza!

When we have dominos we order the feed 4 for £5 each deal. 2 medium pizzas, potato wedges, garlic bread and a bottle of drink for £19.99. Much cheaper!!

That is totally outrageous! £15+ for a stodgy disc of disappointment?! I'd have wept when I realised my error.

I pay £5 for a 12inch pizza with chips and a can of Pepsi.

I will never pay full price. When I was seeing someone in the army I had dominoes as he got discount when he showed his ID.

Still wasn't worth it Grin

Well i'm on a learning curve here re: Domino tactics. If/when i ever get DH to agree to try to buy anything from them again i'll remember this.

If we have pizza, 9 times out of 10 it's DrOeker's from Tesco. Usually on a 2 for £3.50 deal or something.

piratecat - we ordered
A medium thin hot sizzler (? or similar name) - DHs choice.
A medium thin with peperami and sweetcorn - DD,
and for me a medium deep pan (i know that's Pizza Hut terminology - but you know what i mean) with mushroom, sweetcorn, tomato and beef.

No edible gold leaf Grin

And you can get some really good pizzas in the supermarket for £3-4, they only take 10 minutes to cook.

Perhaps you could save the boxes next time, and get a friend to bake it for you and bring your 'order' round in the boxes - they could dress up in bike gear if you want to go for it in a big way.
