A hand-counter is a perfectly fine thing for Tesco to sell.

But calling it a Totty Clicker? Really, Tesco? Really? I know you're just a marketplace for someone else here, but still....

If you have a strong stomach, here is the copy:
"Totty Clicker The Totty Clicker was made famous by a Mr. Ben Affleck in a Lynx television advertisement. Tally counters were usually carried around by large burley bouncers for counting people entering clubs and bars, but thanks to the Hollywood star there has been a keen following of the Totty Clicker ever since. The Totty Clicker is the latest 'mancessory' used by young gentlemen whilst wetting their whistle at the local public house or 'Disco.' These Cad's click their Totty Clicker tally counters when smiled upon by a good looking filly, thus creating a competitive sport in which to embark upon on an evening. Chap's all over England are exercising their right to judge whether they think they are 'Wed worthy or not' at the click of a button. Competitive sports have always been popular with the young men of this country and Totty Clicker's have just added one more to the books. The Totty Clicker comes in a chrome finish (this can also be used as a reflective instrument to comb ones..."

Oh dear. Tesco really, really needs to sort itself out. It used to be a so-so shop, now it's a failing tat peddler. I avoid at all costs.

Wow, that's.. just nasty. I see it's being sold as a novelty though so we will no doubt be accused of having no sense of humour.

Is there a parallel product for those who want to count fanciable men?

I ce on thinking they'd used totty as a derivative of totting up, and you were being a bit precious. How bloody wrong I was! That's so wrong, especially from a household name.

I don't think the person writing the description was too keen either, there's a mocking ring to that blurb and they've listed the age range as 3-4 despite it not being in the toy section Grin

That's a pile of shit and no doubt a student on their website staff having a laugh, but why does everyone hate Tesco.

They are cheaper than, Sainsbury's and Morrison's and the big one is better stocked and Asda is horrid.

No way can I afford Waitrose/M&S and life is too short for shopping in a shed with only a subsection of what you need ie Aldi/Lidl

what is it just a counter? You know it looks like a modern rosary bead I've seen those mechanical and electronic in Islamic stores look exactly the same. Tesco are stupid they should have marketed it as a counting aid then its open for many uses , schools, sports, people like me and modern day nuns? Lol

Terribly sexist and terrible use of the English language! It's whetting the whistle for one! Incorrect use of apostrophe already pointed out above. Offensive on many fronts...

Wanders off muttering I bet Waitrose don't sell these

They'll explain it away as being a light hearted novelty, no offence intended, poor online description slipped through their sturdy net of standards, humourless women missing the joke, must be that time of the month...
