AIBU?

Asda New Groceries Website

AIBU to want to throttle and bang the heads together of the plonkers who designed the new Asda groceries website?

It is so awful, they have removed: find a list of products and the ability to add products from previous orders, sorted by orders. It takes forever to load certain pages and it means I am having to use another supermarket for our shopping from now on. I called the helpline and the woman was laughing at how all these things had gone.

And I have given up wine for the month.

Will breathe a bit now and crack on with my order with Tescos.

YANBU, it was the final straw for me after weeks of missing items, broken items, wrong items and stupid substitutions.

Have given up and gone back to physically visiting / shopping in Morrisons.

I like Asda, and I usually get my groceries delivered from there, sometimes Tesco, but more usually Asda.

I hate the new website though! Never had a problem with missing, or substituted items, Asda is always fine for me, but I do loathe that new site.

Awful isn't it? I hate the fact you can't shop by brand any more, I was crying tears of frustration last week trying to find Nestlé fucking Shreddies. Trying to decide what type of cereal (ie, family, cluster, children's etc) not helped by the fact the search button has stopped working.
The sell by dates have been crap recently and I do wonder if the people who do the substitutions even eat actual food at all.
Both the Tescos and Sainbsos website are better but ime they are more expensive so it looks like Asda it is for now.
Hurry up Morrisons and get yourselves online!!

YANBU. I liked ASDA's internet delivery then came to try and use it today. Never again, it's too bloody annoying!

Agreed, it takes ages to load pages and the search tool is awful.

I didn't mind it. I mostly shop by using my favourites though.

I feel strangely grateful that I am not alone!

The problem is that the favourites function has never properly worked for me - things I buy every week never show and then there are things I bought once that sit there in hopeful anticipation.

I really hope Morrisons gets going soon.

There is no way I can face a supermarket with two a preschooler and a toddler.

Ohhh me too! I shop by favourites but it takes soooo long now - 5 pages instead of 2.

And they have removed the sort by price feature so I can't find out the cheapest things they have unless I search endless pages.

Burmobasher They do have sort by brand still. That's no good to me as if it's something I don't normally buy ho the f**k do I know who makes it?

I loved their customer service - I got at least £5 back a week on a £40 shop because they kept putting a massive chicken or the wrong wine in. I was gutted using Morrisons as Asda is cheaper on the stuff I wanted but i couldn't use the website.

another hater here too, at the bottom, it invites you to "tell us what you think" so i did! i suggest everyone else does too, and maaaaaybe they might rethink it/ my gripes were the amount of time taken to load and lack of searches now. This week i shall do my shop through mysupermarket.com but i do hope they change it back again

Me 2! Painfully slow and just stupid to navigate on an ipad, not tried on laptop, just had sainsburys for the second week. ASDA consider yourself told!

I've used ASDA online since its introduction here in Newcastle and I thoroughly agree with the comments regarding the new website.

I've complained to the SA call centre, Leeds HQ and my local superstore and nobody appeared to be aware of the problems.

However, I have discovered a solution the makes a big difference. Despite ASDA claiming the website is compatible with IE 8,9 and 10 my experience is that it only works properly with v10. It's still not as quick and responsive as the old system but at least it works.

It's crap. Wouldn't let me check out or pay, add the shopping to a new list, let me find anything, then after 20 minutes on hold the CS were less than helpful and ended up loosing the entire trolly list.

Asda is next to ASDA. A £10 taxi ride away (I cant drive). Sainbo's too expensive and tesco are crap. BALLS.

What's Occado like?

Sorry, ASDA is next to ALDI.

I hate Asda online. I waited 2 days for my shopping, kept on getting fobbed off with excuses such as broken down vans, sick drivers etc. They didn't ring to tell me that there would be delays, I had to chase them all the time. They kept putting me off from cancelling the order and when they did, it took another 6 weeks to get my money back. Again I had to do all the chasing, very bad customer service & I havent used them since.

I used Asda on a regular basis but the new website is more than shite.

It stalls, they new layout is worse than useful.

You try and pay , it crashes so you don't know if you've paid or not or if your shopping will arrive

I'm seriously thinking of moving online shopping providers but as others have said Sainburys is ££'s more and I hate tesco sites

I've had to call my bank to make sure the payment didn't go through. It's beyond crap.

Yes it's rubbish. I thought it was just a poor Internet connection here, but obviously it's the site itself. Took me 10 min to check out! I think I'll try tesco again

I used to use Asda but now shop at Tesco online all the time. I've just had a look at the site and there's so much going on with colour, pricing and special offers, It's so in your face.

I love Ocado. Long sell by dates, hardly ever substitutes or missing items. Fish, meat and green grocery always very high quality.

Sainsbury let me down big time with online, and the fruit/veg quality is appalling (as it is in our local sainsbos)

Tesco, I will use online infrequently. Missing items, late deliveries etc etc

Love the quirky things they sell Asda, but only use the online once in a blue moon as they only offer two hour windows for delivery, always missing/substituting stuff, so I have to end up going to a bloody shop.

Looking forward to Morrisons delivery service launch with great interest.

Right then.

Just done an occado shop. Saved £14 in shopping and swapping using compare my supermarket, then found out it was free delivery over certain orders, THEN googled discount codes for first shop and got another £20 off!

Not doing this and carrying on with ASDA would have cost me another £40 without the discounts and the cost of delivery.

I think we can call that a RESULT.

LayMizzRarb · 01/09/2013 14:29

I have a delivery pass with Ocado, it is £6.99 a month, but gives you free delivery, so I often split my shopping into a couple of deliveries in the week. It also entitles you to extra discounts on stuff you buy regularly.

If you find you like Ocado, it is well worth it IMO.
